Forecasting of Traffic Overlay Design New Design  This facility is available from the design windows, and can be used to take traffic growth into consideration by calculating the yearly amount of traffic to be entered for the design.  This is particularly useful if large variations in growth rate between different load types are expected. If for example a certain aircraft is expected to be phased out whereas a new type will increase in number, the percentage distribution over the design period can be determined using this calculator. For each type of load (aircraft) the number of loads during the first year in the design period must be entered. If forecasts are available these may be entered, or a general growth rate may be input.   In the example above the number of aircraft have been entered for year 1 as well as forecasts for year 10 and 20. After pressing Calculate the percentage distribution and the average number of loads per year is calculated. The calculated data will be transferred to the design window by pressing Transfer.   A simpler example is shown below, where you enter traffic in ESALs for first year and then applies a general growth rate during the design period:  Page 1 of 2 Forecasting of Traffic 5/14/2014 mk:@MSITStore:C:\Program%20Files\Dynatest\Elmod6\elmod5.chm::/Elmod5_rtf/Fo...

Forecasting of TrafficOverlay DesignNew Design

This facility is available from the design windows, and can be used to take traffic growth into considerationby calculating the yearly amount of traffic to be entered for the design.

This is particularly useful if large variations in growth rate between different load types are expected. If forexample a certain aircraft is expected to be phased out whereas a new type will increase in number, thepercentage distribution over the design period can be determined using this calculator. For each type ofload (aircraft) the number of loads during the first year in the design period must be entered. If forecastsare available these may be entered, or a general growth rate may be input.

In the example above the number of aircraft have been entered for year 1 as well as forecasts for year 10and 20. After pressing Calculate the percentage distribution and the average number of loads per year iscalculated. The calculated data will be transferred to the design window by pressing Transfer.
