Hello from the Etihad Stadium This leaflet contains lots of useful information that will help you plan and enjoy your experience at One Direction in Manchester. In the run up to the concerts we’ll be sharing more information that will be useful when you’re planning your visit and on the day itself – for example, updates to travel routes, the location of pick up and drop off points and facilities available at the Etihad Stadium. We’ll be making announcements on our official Twitter account, @MCFCHELP #1DEtihad and on our website at www.mcfc.co.uk/events. When you’re inside the stadium, take time to find your bearings and make sure you collect a concert wristband when you arrive – see enclosed for more information. Camping outside the stadium is not allowed. DO Keep your ticket with you at all times. Remember age restrictions apply – If you have purchased a ticket that is unsuitable for the age of the concert goer, please contact the ticket agent you made the purchase from. If you want to consume alcohol and look under 25 you will need to produce a valid form of I.D. – Passport or Driving Licence Bring waterproof clothing in case of rain – the stadium does not have a roof. Bring sunscreen and a hat in case of very hot weather. Bring a small bag to keep your phone, purse/wallet and ticket safe. Make sure you have planned your journey to and from the stadium, allowing extra time to take into account queues for public transport and extra traffic around the stadium. Make sure you know the phone number of someone responsible that you can call if there is a change of plans. Remember that your phone can run out of charge so have this number written down somewhere safe as well as stored in your phone. Arrange a meeting place within the stadium in case you get separated from your friends or family. Ensure all food and drink is consumed prior to entering the stadium, as you are not able to bring food and drink into the stadium. Concessions are available inside should you need anything. Once inside the stadium, take some time to find your bearings so if you go the toilet or to get some food or a drink you will be able to make your way back to your seat or your spot on the pitch without getting lost. The Etihad Stadium is located tothe East of Manchester citycentre. It is home to ManchesterCity Football Club but on Friday30th May, Saturday 31st May andSunday 1st June, we aredelighted to host One Direction.

BT City SquareOn the Etihad Campus is BT CitySquare, our fantastic fanzone, which isright next to the Etihad CampusMetrolink Station. BT City Square isopen for the One Direction concertswhere there’ll be a great atmosphere,with food, drink and music. Free toenjoy and within the confines of thegated Etihad Campus, why not comedown early to beat the traffic and startthe party early, with your friends andfamily.

SmokingSmoking is not permitted in any areasof the Etihad Campus. The use ofelectronic cigarettes is also prohibited.Anyone caught smoking or usingelectronic cigarettes risks beingejected from the stadium.

Cash MachineThere is a cash machine on the EtihadCampus though please be aware thatqueues to use the machine are likely.The cash machine is located next tothe City Store in BT City Square. Other cash machines can be found atAsda Supermarket, which is locatedopposite the stadium, on Alan TuringWay.

We would advise that you arrive withany money that you require and alsoask that you secure this safely aboutyour person.

Food and DrinkFood and drink is available to buy inand around the BT City Square

Fanzone and inside the stadium. Youcannot bring your own food and drinkinto the stadium.

TicketsTickets for events held at the EtihadStadium must be purchased throughauthorised agents only. Ticketspurchased through unauthorisedagents may not be valid and the Cluband Concert Promoter accept noliability – if your ticket is not valid youwill not be allowed entry to theconcert. We are unable to provide you

with alternative tickets should youpurchase from unauthorised ticketsellers, regardless of the price paid. Alltickets are issued subject to the Termsand Conditions of Sale that are printedon the back of the ticket, along withassociated Ground Regulations whichcan be found online atwww.mcfc.co.uk.

AlcoholThe consumption of alcohol in thearea around the Etihad Stadium is notallowed. This includes all streets,

pavements and walking routes. Youare not allowed to take alcohol ontothe campus. Stewards will not allowany persons carrying alcohol to enterthe area.The stadium operate a rigorousChallenge 25 alcohol policy. ID will berequired if you look under 25-years ofage and you want to consumealcohol. Challenge 25 will be appliedto those purchasing alcohol atstadium bars and those drinkingalcohol in the stadium – if you don’t goto the bar yourself but are drinkingalcohol in the stadium and look under25 you will still be asked to produceI.D. Passports and Driving Licencesare the only forms of ID accepted.We respectfully ask visitors to theEtihad Stadium to drink responsibility.Discretion and the ultimate decisionlies with the stewards as to whetheryou are fit to enter the stadium and /or remain in the venue if intoxicated.

The stadium has a zero tolerance tounderage drinking – if stewards seewhat they suspect to be underagedrinking, or any adult buying drinksfor anyone underage, they will takeappropriate action. This mayinclude individuals involved beingejected from the stadium before orduring the concert.

MerchandiseOfficial One Direction merchandisewill be available from outlets on thestadium campus. We would advisethat merchandise is only purchasedfrom these official outlets and thevenue is not liable for any itemspurchased through unofficial channels.Unlicensed street trading is prohibitedin the streets surrounding the stadium.

ARRIVING AT THE ETIHAD STADIUMAge RestrictionsAge restrictions are in operation at the OneDirection shows. These restrictions wereshared when you bought your ticket(s) andare in place for your safety and comfort.• Individuals under the age of 12 years

must be accompanied by an adult over18 years.

• No children under 5 years old arepermitted.

• Pitch standing - no individuals 11 yearsold or under. Individuals aged 12 – 15years must be accompanied by an adultover 18 years.

• Individuals aged 16 years and older areallowed on the pitch unaccompanied.

• Seated tickets – Individuals aged 11years old and under must beaccompanied by an adult.

Please carry ID with you at all times, so thatwe can ensure you are able to access thearea of the stadium that you havepurchased.If you have purchased a ticket that isunsuitable for the age of the concert goer,please contact the ticket agent youpurchased from.

Timings*BT City Square Fanzone will be open from2pm. Turnstiles open at 5pm.*These timings are subject to change –please make sure to check @MCFCHELP#1DEtihad and www.mcfc.co.uk/events forthe latest information.

CampingThe stadium does not have facilities forovernight camping. Camping is notpermitted. Do not arrive before theconcerts to camp out. The stadium campusgates will open at 6am and you can enterfrom this point onwards, however facilitiessuch as food and drink will not be availableuntil BT City Squareopens at 2pm.**Subject to change

Concerts WristbandsConcert wristbands will be available for youto collect when you arrive at the stadium.These wristbands will have spaces for youto fill in important information such asphone numbers, your seat number or pitchlocation. Having this information on yourwristband will help you find your way backto your friends or family if you get lost; it willalso be useful for our stewards in directingyou back to your seat or pitch location.Remember to bring a pen with you so youcan fill in your details.Concert wristbands do not allow you toaccess to the stadium – to do this, youmust have a valid ticket.

Please note that we do not allowre-admission, so once you enterthe stadium, you are not allowed toexit and re-enter.

INSIDE THE ETIHAD STADIUMAccess into the Etihad Stadium is allowedwith a valid concert ticket only. The stadium is a very large place and it canbe easy to lose your bearings. To minimisethe risk of getting lost within the stadium,we advise you:• Take note of the entrance you used to

enter the stadium.• Pay attention to your surroundings as

you make your way to your seat or thepitch.

• Once you’re on the pitch or in your seattake a look around and orientate yourself– this will help you find your way back toyour friends or family if you leave yourdesignated area to use the facilities.

Remember to fill in your seat details orpitch location on your concert wristband. Ifyou know where you are seated orstanding, it will be easier for our stewards tohelp you find your way back if you get lost. The stewards are easily identifiable, soplease do not panic if you get lost - simplyask a member of the team to help and we’llhave you back with your friends and familyin no time.

Food, drinks, toilets (including accessibletoilets), first aid, lost children and welfarefacilities are all available inside the stadium.Please ask any of stewards if you areunsure of where to find any of thesefacilities.

First Aid and Lost ChildrenWe have a number of first aid and lostchildren locations around the stadium. If you require first aid or want to report a lostor found child, please speak to the neareststadium steward.

GETTING TO AND FROMTHE ETIHAD STADIUMThe Etihad Stadium is easy to reachusing all modes of transport and is ineasy walking distance fromManchester city centre.

WalkingThere is a safe, well lit and signpostedwalking route available from ManchesterPiccadilly Station. Signage will direct youalong the route. Please follow the ‘City Link’signs. It will take approximately 20-minutesto walk from Manchester city centre. Thesame route will be operational at the end ofthe event. Stewards will be on hand todirect you.

Metrolink (trams)The Etihad stadium is directly adjacent toMetrolink’s Etihad Campus stop which isfully accessible with lifts and ramps on bothplatforms. For the One Direction concerts trams willrun as follows to and from EtihadCampus stop. • Bury to Etihad Campus through the City

Centre via Piccadilly station.• Eccles to Ashton under Lyne via

Piccadilly station and Etihad Campusstop. (The service in and out of the citywill operate at a six minute frequencybefore and after the concerts).

• Ashton under Lyne to Eccles via EtihadCampus Stop and Piccadilly station.(The service to and from Ashton underLyne will operate at a 12 minutefrequency before and after the concerts).

After the concert, passengers are advisedto use the Etihad Campus stop as both HoltTown and Velopark stops will be closed forsafety reasons.

Buying Your TicketTickets must be purchased before boardingthe tram and can be bought from ticketmachines which are located on each stop.Adult and child tickets are availableincluding one day and family travelcards,ticket machines accept cash and cards. Add-on tickets to the Etihad Campus canalso be purchased if buying a rail ticket atNational Rail stations.

Victoria Tram stopIf travelling from Victoria Rail station, pleasenote that due to improvement works,Metrolink Victoria tram stop is closed sopassengers will need to use Shudehill stopwhich is a very short walk from the trainstation and is well signposted.

Metrolink Park and RideIf travelling via the M60, why not use theMetrolink Park & Ride car parks at eitherAshton Moss or Ashton West stops, bothon A6140 Lord Sheldon Way, Ashton. Bothcar parks are free to use for passengerstravelling on Metrolink to the EtihadStadium.At Ashton Moss you can pick and drop offanyone going to the concerts and travellingby Metrolink.Please remember that the consumption ofalcohol is not permitted on Metrolink;anyone in possession of alcohol will have itconfiscated.

TaxisThere will be a limited number of taxisavailable after the concert. Please be awarethat because of demand there will be asignificant waiting time for taxis. If you aretravelling to the city centre you shouldconsider using the safe walking route with agroup, or catching a bus or Metrolink tram.

After the Concert – Onward JourneysPlease be aware that there will be queuesfor public transport and taxis after theconcert, as well as a significant amount oftraffic on the roads around the stadium. Ifyou are planning an onward journey afterthe concert – for example, a train fromManchester Piccadilly or Victoria TrainStation, or a bus / coach from the citycentre – please make sure you allow plentyof time for your journey from the stadium.

Pick Up and Drop OffThere will be dedicated ‘pick up and dropoff’ points in operation before and after theconcert. Please check @MCFCHELP#1DEtihad www.mcfc.co.uk/events orgigsandtours.com/go/1D for information.Be aware that there will be heavy traffic onthe roads around the stadium after theconcert so plan extra time into your journey.

Please note: road closures will be inoperation after the concerts – youmay not be able to pick up concertgoers from the same place theywere dropped off. With this in mind,we strongly advise that you use thededicated ‘pick up and drop off’points directed.

ParkingParking is available on-site at the stadium.Signs will direct fans to car parks they canuse. Parking costs £10 for cars, £20 forminibuses and £30 for coaches (per day)and will be open from 12pm for concerts.There will be no on the day sales forcoaches, these must be booked in advanceby calling the Customer Services team on0161 444 1894 (option 5). There are anumber of satellite car parks around thestadium with prices displayed upon entry.The Club does not endorse these car parks.If using these car parks, please take note ofyour surroundings in order to easily find thecar park when you return in the dark. Please

allow plenty of time to park and get to thestadium. Also, please note that a roadclosure operates immediately after theevent to allow pedestrians to leave safely.This will affect all local car parks and willcause extended delays.Details of the best car parks to usedepending on your driving route will beavailable closer to the time – please checkwww.mcfc.co.uk/events for updates.Parking at Asda, adjacent to the stadium, isreserved for store customers only. Penaltieswill also be imposed for misuse of this carpark.

Residents Parking SchemeA resident parking scheme is in place in thestreets around the stadium and this isstrictly enforced and identified through on-street signage. If you park in these areasyou will be fined and your vehicle may beclamped or removed. Additionally,pedestrian gates to estates opposite theEtihad Stadium, along Ashton New Roadbetween Darley Street and Grey Mare Lane,are in operation and locked at the end ofthe event to minimize noise and disruptionto local residents. In addition to a fine, if youpark in these areas your vehicle is at risk ofbeing locked within the area you cannotaccess after the event. Please respect theneeds of the local residents and park inauthorised car parks only.

LEAVING THE ETIHAD STADIUMThe Etihad Stadium is committed to being agood neighbour to the residents of EastManchester. Please respect their homesand property by carefully disposing of yourrubbish, using the toilets provided on thestadium grounds, adhering to the ResidentsParking Scheme in operation and beingmindful of minimising noise and disruptionas you leave.Make sure you plan your journey homebefore the day of the concert. If you needdirections to trams, buses, coaches, carparks, taxis or walking directions to the citycentre on the day please ask one of ourstewards.
