QUALIFICATIONS• SVQ Level 3 (SCQF Level 6)

• Provisional BESCA license on successful completion of testing to BESCA standards.

JOB / ROLE DESCRIPTION

The apprentices will undertake the SVQ 3 in Mechanical Engineering Services: Heating and Ventilating Installation. Apprentices will also take units in heating and ventilating planning, systems installation, systems commissioning, safe working, quality development and effective working relationships. In years 3 and 4 apprentices will cover site procedures and common welding technology, both metal arc welding practice and oxy acetylene welding practice.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTSApprentices must be an employee of a company in the H&V industry as on site training and assessment are required as part of the course.

COURSE DELIVERYThis course is delivered at Glasgow Kelvin College (Springburn Campus) and at Edinburgh College (Eskbank Campus).
