A Message from Judah, Executive Director February may represent the shortest month of the year, but it certainly is stuffed with holidays and events to mark it as a month to remember. That special day when we celebrate our friends and loved ones, Valentine’s Day, is on the 14th, President’s Day is on the 18th, and then the 91st Academy Awards Show is on the 24th! In addition, Punxsutawney Phil, everyone’s favorite groundhog, will tells us if Spring will arrive six weeks earlier or not. Finally, for those who are more sports-minded, the Superbowl LIII (53rd!) will pit the New England Patriots against our own Los Angeles Rams. Now if you’re in the mood for crafts this month, be sure and attend our Arts & Crafts Club on the 5th, and our watercolor painting class with Gabrielle on the 26th. We also have Loren visiting us on the 13th to make Valentine’s Day cards using rubber block printing. If music is your thing, then tune in on Wednesday mornings as we are featuring music documentaries covering Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, B.B. King, and James Brown. Our “Bubbie”, Mommy & Me sessions every Monday morning have been such a huge hit with our residents, and we are continuing with this in February. We first initiated this joyful activity in December where mothers and their babies and toddlers from the local community come in and spend valuable time with us. Remember to gather all your GOP dollars from our Horse Racing and Bingo activities for our Monthly Auction event on the 28th at 10:30 a.m., where you can bid on many household goods and sundries! Wishing you all the sweetest, most special month of the year, Judah Cohen 1025 N.
