Human beings have been su�ering from the various infectious diseases since the history of evolution of mankind. By the virtue of the development of the modern medicine, many diseases have been possible to overcome.

Nevertheless, many more unpredictable and untreatable diseases still exist. Even though human beings, the superior

form of all creations, are still suffering from the lower microorganisms such as viruses, not enough solutions are

provided from the current modern medicine regretfully.

As a scientist, I have put all my research efforts into discovering the new potent antiviral therapeutics to overcome

the limitation of the conventional antiviral drugs.As a result of strenuous 20 years research, miraculously, I have

discovered several antiviral substances. One of them is named VSF (Virus Suppressing Factor) which shows superior

antiviral activities exceeding those of previously known antiviral substances such as interferon. VSF (Virus

Suppressing Factor) is expected to show an unprecedented, potent broad spectrum of antiviral activity.

Being free from infectious diseases has been ImmuneMed’s core corporate objective. We believe that VSF (Virus

Suppressing Factor) will be a breakthrough in the near future to improve human health. I am proud to announce that

04 05Currently, several antivirals, such as synthetic drugs and interferons, are available on the market which still have many

limitations in their clinical applications. The continued use of chemical drugs can lead to increased resistance, and

although interferons show a broad spectrum of antiviral activity in dealing with the range of viruses, its activity is not

as good as people expected. Developed countries like the USA have started realizing the potential of composite

materials possessing promising results.

A number of possibilities have been discussed in various research papers, which are a good start, but the methods

to obtain such substances are yet in the elementary stage. So far, methods for its purification have not been

standardized. We have conducted extensive research for decades and developed techniques to obtain the

proprietary source material (VSF: Virus Suppressing Factor). The company received a US Patent in April 2010 and is

ready to submit a patent regarding appropriated human VSF worldwide.

VSF is produced in the body, similar to that of interferon; however it shows much greater antiviral activity over the

wide ranges of viruses in animal experiments than interferon. Therefore, if developed as an antiviral therapeutic, VSF

can overcome many of the limitations of existing synthetic antivirals as well as interferon.

What is VSF?

Acute febrile illnesses (such as scrub typhus, leptospirosis, haemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome, murine typhus

etc.) are rapidly spreading in the world. These infections occur in Korea (around 100,000 people per year), Southeast

Asia and China, causing epidemics particularly in autumn. More than 10 million people are estimated to be infected

worldwide annually. The main victims of these infections are people dwelling in the wilds, such as farmers, soldiers,

and hikers.

ImmuneMed Inc. has focused on developing a rapid, accurate and reproducible acute febrile illness diagnostic kit

with high sensitivity and specificity for the past 10 years. We rea ready to announce a new AFI rapid kit that

imultaneously detects both IgM and IgG of 3 different AFI within 10 mins, based on the lateral flow

mmunochromatographic assay. The diagnostic kit was developed and met with the world class research standard.

We expect that it will be marketed from 2009. It can potentially be sold in General Hospitals, Clinical Inspection

Centers, Rural Health Centers, and Military Clinics worldwide. We also possess the proprietary materials and

technologies required for vaccine development and we are sure to develop it soon.
