An Apple a Day Keeps the Doctor Away:Healthy and Unhealthy Eating Habits
• Cut out healthy and unhealthy items from food packages or magazines and paste them under the appropriate heading .
• What 5 questions would you ask if you had to interview the advertisers about their products.
• You are doing a survey on shoppers in a supermarket: What would you ask the shoppers?
• Compare two commercials about dairy products. (Yotvata chocolate milk, Tnuva cheese). What is the difference between them and how do they sell their products?

• Prepare a report about what people in your class eat for breakfast and compare it to breakfasts in other parts of the world.
• Write a letter to Hungry Jack explaining why you think their advertising is false and misleading.
• Design a healthy menu that you think most people will enjoy using the healthy eating guide.
• Design a “Cafeteria of the Future” that will only sell/serve healthy food. What sort of signs and logos would it use? (Cut Down on Fat – Not on Taste!)

• Sequence amazing facts about foods according to your own hierarchies, using the sites:– Did you know that…? – More amazing facts about food
• Prepare PPTS, Glogters or traditional posters with proverbs and sayings about healthy life style (draw pictures to illustrate the proverbs)
• Find out about the origin of common foods (pizza, sandwich, MacDonalds, etc.)
• “Convince Me!” Game: If they could talk, what would they say? Students choose items that “speak” and convince us of their benefits.
