Dear Friends,

If “change is good,” then what has taken place recently at Rochelle Community Hospital is really good. However, we prefer to call it progress. On April 11, we offi cially opened the Rochelle Community Hospital Health & Wellness Center – our new two-story, 26,000-square-foot medical offi ce building. What began with a groundbreaking on June 16 of last year is now completed and something we at RCH – and hopefully you as well – can be proud of as a modern and effi cient healthcare facility. This facility was built with you in mind, spacious with room to grow, effi cient and tastefully done.

Housing the Multi-Specialty Center and HealthWorks Fitness Center on the fi rst fl oor, the new addition offers patients the opportunity to receive cardiopulmonary rehabilitation or become a member of the fi tness center to stay active. The Multi-Specialty Clinic has been expanded for additional providers to see patients. We continue to seek new specialties to enhance our

services so you don’t have to leave town for specialty care. Also included on the fi rst fl oor is our Stress Lab and Diabetes and Nutrition Education. These services now have additional space for enhanced services.

The Family Healthcare Clinic is on the second fl oor of the Health & Wellness Center, with Drs. Goel, Gorman, Popp, Ritter and Thiara, along with Family Nurse Practitioner Marilyn Balch, seeing patients fi ve days per week, with schedules available for new patients. This clinic has also been designed for growth, with space available for more physicians utilizing up to 27 exam rooms.

At the same time we celebrated the opening of the Health & Wellness Center, we reopened the cafeteria at RCH. We know many of you depend on good economical meals in our cafeteria. To make your dining experience better, we have completed a total renovation to this area. We appreciate your patience while this area was closed and invite you back to enjoy this newly modernized cafeteria.

Also on the short-term horizon at Rochelle Community Hospital is the relocation and renovation of our Walk-In and Urgent Care Clinics. Renamed RCH Convenient Care, the Walk-In and Urgent Care Clinics will be located in the same area (the recently vacated Family Healthcare Clinic) and open from noon-9 pm weekdays, Saturdays 9 am-noon and Sundays 1-4 pm. The relocation to these areas should be completed mid-summer.

While all of the upgrades mentioned may not directly impact patient care, we feel these are important in enhancing the patient experience by making the hospital facilities more modern and easier to navigate. At the same time, these upgrades are another way for us to make RCH a great place to work for our employees. Feeling good about your work environment has a signifi cant impact on employee satisfaction.

We at RCH are interested in hearing from you and offer to provide you a tour of the new addition. As always, please feel free to call us with any of your questions or concerns, or to share insights from your recent patient interactions. You may contact me directly at 815-562-1410 to share any of your thoughts. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best in health,

Chief Executive Offi cer, Rochelle Community Hospital
