THE ABILTY TO READ, UNDERSTAND AND ACT ON HEALTH INFORMATION.

OVER 90 MILLION AMERICAN ADULTS HAVE DIFFICULTY UNDERSTANDING AND USING HEALTH INFORMATION.

QUICK HEALTH FACTS:EVERY 20 SECONDS SOMEONE HAS A HEART ATTACK

At least 250,000 people die of a heart attack before reaching the hospital

EVERY 40 SECONDS SOMEONE HAS A STROKE Stroke is the 3rd leading cause of death in the U.S.

TOO MANY PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OR WILL IGNORE THEM!

In one survey of 1,200 people only 1/3 knew shortness of breath could be a symptom of a heart attack

Early recognition of signs and symptoms can make the difference between life and death of you or a loved one!
