Senior Center Auxiliary

The meeting schedule for the Auxiliary has changed. Meetings will no longer be held on Sundays. Auxiliary meetings for 2019 will be held on the third Monday of each month, from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, and will include coffee and dessert.

The first meeting for 2019 will be held on Monday, March 18, at 1:00 pm

Crustless Quiche

1 ¼ cups diced ham ¾ cup frozen broccoli cuts, thawed 2 ounces shredded cheddar cheese 2 oz. shredded Monterey jack cheese 8 large eggs ½ cup milk ½ teas. salt ¼ teas. pepper

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease 9” pie plate. Scatter ham, broccoli, & cheeses evenly in pie plate. Whisk remaining ingredients in a bowl until blended. Pour into pie plate. Bake 40 minutes or until firm. Cover top with foil if it starts to get too brown. Cut into wedges to serve.

This highly entertaining show features the music of Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins.

Snickerdoodle Bread

1 cup softened butter ¾ cups sour cream 1 ½ cups sugar 2 ½ cups flour ½ teas. salt 2 teas. baking powder 2 teas. cinnamon 1 cup mini choc. chips 3 eggs 3 Tablespoons sugar 1 teas. vanilla 3 teas. cinnamon Preheat oven to 350 degrees & grease loaf pan. In med. bowl cream butter, sugar, salt & cinnamon. Add in eggs, vanilla, & sour cream. Add flour & baking powder, stirring just until combined. Fold in chocolate chips (or cinnamon chips) Pour batter into prepared pan. Combine the 3T. sugar & 3 teas. cinnamon & sprinkle on top. Bake 60 – 65 minutes. Cool slightly before removing from pan & serving.

January is named for the Roman god Janus, the god of the doorway. Janus was always shown with 2 heads, one looking backward and one looking forward.
