WHAT ARE HIGH ENERGY BISCUITS?

INSTRUCTIONS:Children ages 24 – 59 months should consume 100 grams per day of HIGH ENERGY BISCUITS.

HIGH ENERGY BISCUITS may be consumed at any time of the day in addition to other foods.

What is Plumpy ’doz?

How/When to eat it?

• Plumpy Doz® should be eaten throughout the day as a snack between regular meals or breastfeeding. Therefore, the child can have 1 tablespoon mid-morning, another mid-afternoon and then one final tablespoon in the evening.

• Plumpy Doz® comes already prepared and ready to eat; it does NOT need to be mixed, cooked or diluted before eating.

• Once the container is opened, it needs to be eaten within one week.

• Between feedings, the container should remain closed.

Recommended amount per day: 3 tablespoons per day

Recommended ration per week: 1 pot per week

Who are the intended beneficiaries?

- 6-23 months children

- It should NOT be used for infants under 6 months as they should be exclusively breastfed.

INSTRUCTIONS:Children ages 6 to 59 months of age - 1 sachet per dayPregnant and Lactating women - 1 sachet per day

Wash your hands and your child’s hands before eating Plumpy’sup.

Knead/massage the sachet briefly prior to opening the package to blend the contents uniformly.

To open the sachet, tear a small portion of the pack. Children may eat directly from the sachet. Can be kept without refrigeration.

Plumpy’sup should be consumed within the day, ideally in between meals. The Plumpy’sup should only be eaten by the child or woman being treated for malnutrition and not shared with other family members.

Breastfed children should eat Plumpy’sup in addition to breast milk. They should always b e offered breast milk first.
