Skill level: BeginnerFinished Size: Door Quilt: 22-1/2” x 60-1/2” Placemat: (4) 13” x 16-3/4” Table Runner: 13” x 50-1/2”Block Count & Block Finished Size: 24 each cream and black leaf blocks, all 3-3/4”

PiecingHarvest side:1. Cut 48 fabric E squares once diagonally. Center a triangle on long sides of each 1” x 2-1/2” fabric C and E piece; sew, pressing seam toward leaf piece.

2. With right sides together, lay a fabric E square on 96 fabric D and 96 fabric C squares. Sew diagonally from corner to

corner. Press seam toward leaf fabric and trim away excess.

3. Lay out the prepared pieces as shown. Sew into rows, then sew the rows together.

4. Lay out the blocks in 2 rows of 3 for each of the 4 mats, and 2 rows of 12 for the runner, alternating the light and dark blocks. Sew into rows, then sew the rows together. Press.

5. Mats: Sew an 8” fabric B strip onto each side, and a 12-3/4” strip to top & bottom.

Runner: Sew an 8” fabric B strip to each short side, and a 46-1/2” strip to long sides.

6. Mats: Sew a 9” leaf border strip to each side. Sew a 2-1/2” fabric G square on each end of the 12-3/4” border strips, and add to top & bottom of mats. Press.

Runner: Sew a 9” leaf border strip to short ends of runner. Sew a 2-1/2” fabric G square on each end of the 46-1/2” border strips, and sew to long edges of runner. Press.

Harvest MoonHalloween side:7. Runner: Lay out 2 different fabric F pieces alternately with the (3) 12-1/2” Fabric G pieces. Sew together; trim to 49”, trimming an equal amount off each end as necessary.8. Runner: Sew an 11-1/2” fabric H piece to each end, and a 52-1/2” fabric H piece to top & bottom edges. Press. Cut a piece of batting the size of this unit. Lay this unit right side down, with the batting on top. Center the harvest runner on top, baste and quilt as desired. Trim edges even with quilt top. Sew the prepared binding to the edges, turn

and stitch in place.9. Mats: Sew a fabric F piece to right end of each 9-1/2” fabric G piece. Press and trim each piece to 15-1/4” wide, trimming fabric G end as necessary. 10. Mats: Sew an 11-1/2” fabric H strip to each side, and an 18-3/4” piece to top & bottom edges; press. Cut 4 pieces of batting the size of this unit. Layer these units right side down, with the batting on top. Center a leaf mat on top, baste and quilt as desired. Trim edges even with leaf mat. Bind as for runner.

Cutting the reserved stripe from placemat set1. From the reserved border stripe, cut (2) strips 3-1/2” wide, centering a witches/stars section in the strip (use the candies & pumpkins sections for seam allowances). Cut into (2) 54-1/2” pieces and (2) 16-1/2” pieces.2. Cut (4) 15-1/2” x 7-1/4” pieces, centering a haunted house & pumpkins section in each piece.

Appliqués:1. Enlarge the pumpkin templates 200%. Trace them onto the paper side of the Wonder-Under. Trim out the center of each pumpkin shape, leaving 1/4” of Wonder-Under inside the traced line. Following manufacturer’s directions, fuse to the back of fabric L and cut out along traced lines.2. Position the appliqués onto the fabric K piece and fuse in place. Use fabric I and fabric R scraps to make eyes, noses, mouths and stems. Finish edges with a satin- or blanket-stitch.

Star Section1. Lay a fabric N 1-1/2” square on each of 7 fabric Q squares; sew diagonally from corner to corner and press seam toward fabric N, trimming away excess. In the same manner, make 6 fabric O/fabricQ pieces, 7 fabric P/fabric

Q pieces, 11 fabric N/fabric O pieces, 11 fabric O/fabric Q pieces and 10 fabric N/fabric P pieces.2. Following the chart above, lay out the above pieces with the remaining 1-1/2” squares of fabric P, fabric N, fabric O and fabric P. Sew into rows, then sew the rows together. Press.

Assembly:1. Using the photo as a guide, lay out the 4 witch/pumpkin sections alternately with the stars section, appliqué section and fabric M section. Insert a 15-1/2” fabric J strip between sections and at top & bottom edges.2. Sew into rows, pressing seams toward lime strips. Add the 54-1/2” fabric J strips to each side, pressing seam toward lime strip.3. Sew a 54-1/2” border piece to each side, pressing seam toward fabric J strip.4. Sew a 3-1/2” fabric K square to each end of a 16-1/2” border piece. Add to top & bottom of quilt.5. Using the border scraps, piece the backing to make a piece 27” x 65”.6. Layer the backing, batting and quilt top. Baste and quilt as desired.7. Trim edges even with quilt top. Sew the prepared moss binding to the edges, turn and stitch in place.
