Malawi is one of the very poorest countries in the

world. Christian African

Relief Trust regularly sends

40ft containers of supplies to help people there in four different destinations.

This is delivery is at Malosa in Upper

Shire region.

My name is Michael.My family are sitting outside our house in the evening. My mother weaves mats and baskets to earn money.

I live in a small village close to Lake Malawi. My family are sitting outside our house in the

evening. I have eight brothers and sisters.

Lake Malawi is a huge lake and a valuable source of water and fish. The boats go out late in the

evening.

My father catches fish in Lake Malawi. We keep some fish for food and

the rest we dry in the sun and sell. My mum washes us children, our clothes and

all our cooking pots in the lake.

. This is my grand-dad’s home. It is very near the lakeside. He is not able to get out these days to

fetch water or food so we have to help him.

This is my classroom at primary school. There are often over 100 children in each class.

Christian African Relief Trust sent some desks and chairs on a container. Now the top class can sit at

desks which make it much easier for us to study.

Girls studying in the library at St Michael’s Girls Secondary School. Christian African Relief Trust

sent some books for this library and some computers.

Girls share dormitory rooms.There are four or six girls in each room.

They do not have mosquito nets.

Over a million people in the world die of malaria each

year. 80% live in sub-Saharan Africa.

In Malawi the government has a

campaign.

nets effectively.
