NAPLAN 2019

From 14 May to 16 May students in Yrs 3 and 5 will participate in NAPLAN Online. The information brochure for parents and carers attached addresses common questions about NAPLAN Online testing.

One of the main features of the NAPLAN Online format is that it is a tailored (or adaptive) test. The tailored test provides a more precise assessment of your child’s performance in the areas of reading, language conventions (grammar, spelling and punctuation) and numeracy by adapting to responses.

As your child progresses through the test, questions may be easier or more difficult, to better assess his or her ability. Your child should not be concerned if he or she finds the questions more difficult than expected – the pathway may be more challenging.

Many of the same questions appear in both paper and online tests, but not every student doing the online test will be answering the same questions in the same order.

Your child’s NAPLAN results and scores are based on the number and complexity of questions he or she has answered correctly.

If you have any further questions about NAPLAN Online, please contact the school.

A customer will receive a sticker for every $10 spent in a single transaction at any Woolworths Supermarket, Woolworths Metro and Woolworths Online. Students can bring in stickers and place them in the box provided or stick them on a sticker sheet (available at school and in stores). At the end of the promotion, based on the number of stickers collected, we will be able to purchase equipment for the school for students to use.

P&C Meeting – Date change

A change of date is required due to some members being unable to attend this week. The new date will be Friday the 17th May at 8:30am. Everyone is most welcome to attend.

Federal Election Day Due to this being a busy day for families who attend sports activities, we have decided to forego our usual practice of running a BBQ. Instead, we will hold a cake and plant stall which will be run using an honour system of payment. If you able to make some cakes or pot up some cuttings for sale they can be left at school on Friday 17th May. Please include a list of ingredients for the cakes and approximately how much they cost to make, so that we can price them accordingly. Thanks for your support!
