SHELVING

Saratoga Series

End Panels/Intermediate Uprights 7/8” thick, 5 ply lumbercore plywood with internal edgeband

Cornice Tops Top panels to be 7/8” solid lumbercore where genuine wood

tops are specified and 1” thick veneer core if a high-pressure

laminate face is specified. ¾” x 3” fascia;. kreg screwed,

glued, then reinforced with glue blocks and stapled to inside

of cornice front and top panel. Bolting cleats: 3/4” x 2”,

glued, screwed, glue-blocked and stapled perpendicularly at

ends of rail, drilled for assembly bolts. Top frames are

shipped as preassembled frames.

Base ¾” x 5” wide bottom veneer core base blocks with a ¾” x

3” solid hardwood base-front. Solid lumber bolting cleats

and back rail that is grooved to accept ¼” thick back panel.

Entire assembly is glued, screwed, nailed and stapled to

form a factory made bottom frame.

Attachment Attachment for Adding Units; Top and bottom frames will be

preassembled at the factory. Four bolts per single faced base

or top; eight per double-faced base or top. All hardware will

be concealed from view after assembly.

Shelves Shelves: 7/8” thick hardwood, of random width boards, from

1” to 4” wide with cross-banding, genuine veneer faces with

exposed edge to receive an internal edge band. Adjustable

and base shelves grooved on the underside to set firmly on

shelf pins. Shelves are rated at 250 lbs of evenly distributed

weight without deflection.

Backs and Partitions ¼” plywood finished to match shelving. Backs are finished

on one side and used with single-faced shelving. Partitions

are used with double-face shelving and are finished on both

sides.

Mohawk Series

SHELVING

Tioga Series

End Panels/Intermediate Uprights Stile and Rail Starter Ends with a ¼ inch reveal on the outside face

between the panel inset and the hardwood frame. Inside face is

flush; frame to panel. Raised panels can be substituted for the flat

panels as an option. Genuine hardwood frames are milled from 5/4

lumber, finishing 1” thick x 2 ½” wide with the base rail 3” wide.

Center mullions are used for end panels over 60” tall. Intermedi-

ate uprights are 1” thick 9-ply, veneer core plywood. Shelf sup-

port holes are drilled on 32mm centers.

Shelburne Series

End Panels Stile and Rail Starter Ends with Tapered Faces and inset panels.

This product line features 1-7/8” thick Capital and Base blocks with

double tapered faces. All genuine stile and rail construction uses 1-

1/2” thick lumber framework with solid, flat inset panels. Overall

thickness is 2-1/4 inches. Intermediate uprights are a 3” thick

subassembly featuring the same Capital and Base blocks as the

starter panels with 1-1/2” thick lumber frame. Shelf support holes

are drilled on 32mm centers.

Cornice Tops 1-1/2” wide, tapered profile hardwood front rail is assembled as a

drop-edge to a 7/8” thick lumber core top panel. Pockets are ma-

chined into the top panel to allow machine bolts to be concealed as

they are threaded into the end panels. Tops are grooved along the

bottom, back edge to accept the back panel.

Base 2-1/2” wide base-front is sub-assembled to the solid core bot-

tom panel. Pockets are machined into the bottom panel to allow

machine bolts to be concealed as they are threaded into the end

panels.

Work Surfaces have a 13/16” wide x 1” thick hardwood edge band

with a flush, high-pressure laminate inset. Standard edge detail is

best fit your needs. All work surfaces will come standard with

CIRCULATION DESK Saratoga Series General Description: Unless requested otherwise, all of our desk components are built

assembled at the factory using real wood joinery offering, years of

service.

Most all of our desks are made custom to each application. Although

the Saratoga series is a simple desk design with graceful bull-nose

edges, it is a very customizable series. Some of the options to give this

desk a unique appearance is color accent pin stripes, black or matching

laminate toe kicks, canted front face or two tone designer patterns

etched into the panels.

Herewith, you will see what is the most common size components

requested for most installations. We are happy to make modifications

to suite your needs. Like all of the Saratoga series, this desk is

standard with a 5/8” thick, internal edge band, with a gentle arched

bullnose milling on three edges of the 1” thick end panel. There is a

slight inset face panel to allow easy foot placement for your patrons

visit.

Doors on cupboards are custom hung at the factory as inset, or flush to

the front edges of the cabinet. They are assembled stile & rail frames

with flat panels or tempered glass lite insets. Complete, they finish ¾”


hinges allowing adjustments in the field. Optional ¾” thick flat wood

panels can be substituted for the stile and rail frames.

the desk a continuous, unbroken face surface. This treatment is

referred to as the “Seneca” look.

across the front of the desk, facing the patron side. Perhaps the

configuration will allow us to build your desk to be modular based on your

project requirements or we may suggest common, overlay front panels to

give the entire desk installation frame balance across many components.

mounted on ½” thick drawer sides all dovetailed and glued. Drawer glides

are ball-bearing type glides mated to maximum weight capacity for the

size drawer. File drawers are complete with a metal top frame on all four

sides to accommodate hanging files without sag or deflection. Drawers are

mounted inset, or flush to the front edge of the cabinet.

Shelburne Series General Description:

The Shelburne product line is a high-end system of furniture, with very

unique characteristics as designed by Vermont furniture designers,

Beeken Parsons. The desk will be unlike anything else available on

the market, incorporating sub-assemblies of hardwood frame bents

with 1-3/4” tall capitals, tapered 2-1/2” tall bases and 1-1/2” thick

verticals between. The bents will capture matching veneer panels to

form the front of the desk and serve to form a structure to house any

type of storage component the client specifies. Each section will be

custom made to specification for any height and width combination to

accommodate both, the patron or staff. This custom desk will require

site assembly with continuous work surfaces and endless options. We

will ask to please supply us with your requirements and we will work

with you to fine tune the design of your desk.

Power Management: These days everyone has unique

requirements for power and or data. We have partnered with

a wire component manufacturer to bring you power/data to

best fit your needs. All work surfaces will come standard with

grommets for wire management. Under surface duplex out-

lets, data chases and flush surface mount “pop-up” termina-

tions are all available upon request.

FOB FACTORY: 1. HALE will pre-pay and add (freight cost) to your invoice using our contracted discount carriers. 2. If you wish to specify the freight carrier, please state carrier of your choice on your order. The order will be shipped collect. 3. If you specify carrier, HALE freight discounts may not apply. 4. For full trailer loads orders, call the Factory for quotation.

FOB DESTINATION: 1. Please see page 12 for description of zones. 2. For shipments less than 300 lbs., there is a $40.00 net drop charge except for items shipped UPS. 3. Pricing herein is for the 48 contiguous United States of America. 4. For shipments to Hawaii & Alaska, freight is paid to the nearest 48 state port in Zone 4. 5. For shipments greater than 1000 lbs., you may deduct 5% from the pricing. 6. For full trailer loads orders, call the Factory for quotation. 7. Some accessory items are available FOB Factory Only. Please refer to pricing pages.

Freight Classes: Starters, Adders, and Tables are class 85, Chairs are class 175, all set up bookcases are class 125.

Returns: Goods returned for credit or exchange will not be accepted unless we have previously authorized the return. Please call us before return-

ing merchandise for any reason. There will be a 30% handling charge for items returned. Sectionals and “special” order Bookcases cannot be re-turned for credit. Determination of “special” is at our discretion.

Cancellations: Cancellations cannot be accepted after one week subsequent to the date of acknowledgement.

When Your Order Arrives: 1. Inspect the arriving freight for damage. (We experience less than 1% damage on total shipments made.) 2. If there is damage, sign the bill of lading as such, keep all packaging and call HALE Customer Service at 3. 800-873-4253. 4. We’ll help you with your claim through our contracted carrier unless you have specified a carrier of preference other than ours.

This guarantee is extended only to the original consumer-purchaser and cannot be transferred. Damage caused by improper handling, usage, or transit damage, does not constitute factory defect. Finish Matching (Stain): Minimum charge $500 list for small orders. For orders $5,000 - $20,000, list 10% up-charge. Over $20,000, list

5% up-charge. 10% additional up-charge on item price if bleaching is required.
