Caroline d’Andlau Hombourg

French born Caroline d’Andlau Hombourg believed from the age of eighteen that she would be a sculptor and so it came as no surprise to her family when in 2000 she left behind her career as a restorer of antique porcelain and enrolled on the local authority sculpting course. Her grandfather was a painter, her father a writer and her uncle a sculptor before her.

Inspired by twentieth century masters Marino Marini and Henry Moore, Caroline’s work has a lightness and elegance that reflects her passion for movement and form. She has an equally light touch whether working on the female nude, dancers or animals and the balance and dynamism she brings to her groups is a joy to behold. Caroline’s work is represented in collections internationally and her sculptures are primarily cast in bronze at foundries here in the UK.
