Week 1 Date 27 January 2008

Summary of significant work of the week

The first week Im tried to get use for this new work environment. Trying to get know of the boss, the

staff, and the work place. Basically, they are two staff that I will work together. That is en. Jamari and En.

Khalid. They taught me what to do and monitor me incases I need help and information because Im still

new and under training program. En. Khalid said he was a senior of my college. He said he was on the

first batch before he continues to Cosmopoint. Look s like a can ask him for an advise for my training as

he and I are from the same college.

Week 2 Date 3 February 2008


This week En. Jamari give me a Scanner for me to work. He also teaches me the correct method on how

to create a same and round border. This week most of my task are repairing and converting En, Jamari

design from vertical alignment to horizontal. This because for the second edition of Perak Halal, Pn.

Zahariah wants all design dimensions in horizontal as it less consumes space. So this week a have to

switching between comps as for new product design it will be done in my laptop and the other on the

desktop.

Also this week I learn that there are 3 dimensions for listing order placement. They are :

50mm x 35mm (RM150.00) Color



My work for this department is to design an order placement base on above dimension mention forclassifies listing of Perak Halal Directory.

Nothing new to learn this week. But there a sure a lot of work and I start to get used to it. This week most

of the designs are for the RM 250.00 listing and there are only 4 days of work because of the Chinese

New Year.

This week work same like the last 2 week that designing the listing placement and resizing the old design.

Its also my first work evaluation, all the work that finish will be print with it product and dimension only

for the manager to evaluate the artwork either its need to be repaired or not. Then I learn that for

advertisement design that been done by En. Jamari under Half Page and Full Page will be redesign to RM

200 and RM250 listing dimension format as it will also be put in the classified directory.

This week is the second artwork evaluation, since the manager want to look at my work. Most of the

week is about repairing artwork that have been evaluate and artwork that have been complete will be

submit to the their company for their confirmation of the design. Im also learn a lot from the manager as

she taught me how to create a better design.

Week 6 Date 2 March 2008


This week much of my work is about redesign my previous artwork and converting an advertisement to

the listing size like listed below :

Quarter page : 50mm x 35mm (RM500.00) Color

Half page : 50mm x 50mm (RM800.00) Color

Full page : 70mm x 65mm (RM1500.00) Color

Since all my artwork not completely been evaluated. Im not allowed to take a new task and must wait

until all done. The manager gives a collection of flyer, pamphlet, booklet and material for me to revisedand take an example of their work. She also wants me to do a revision on other magazine and books.

This week Im repaired all my artwork for printing and compile it with its form Then for and

advertisement listing design, I have to change all previous quarter page and half page size format. There

has been a miss communication and understanding so this is the new or the exactly the correct format for

the advertisement listing :

Quarter page : 50mm x 50mm

Half page & Full page : 70mm x 65mm

There will be no more Rm150 (50mm x 35mm) design for advertisement listing.

This week most of my task is about repairing and redesigning all artwork that have been evaluated. Its

also my third work evaluation. This week I noticed that there are lot of miss spelling and typing error in

my artwork after it was printed. Furthermore, there are also an artwork that I didnt print even thought I

finish it already. Then I realized that I have to synchronized and manage my work to maintain my quality

of work.

After synchronized and manage my work files, I have created a data base for all listing that I have workwith. With the database, I can access or search for my file much faster than before. Plus its also contain

the status all of my work. So I know which work that has been finish, pending or still in progress. Im

also creating a backup file for the work that have been evaluated and completely finish.

This is the last and the final week of my 10 weeks of industrial training. For this week, I try to completeall unfinished worked and take time to gather some information about the company. All this information

will be written in my report. Im also updating my database and make a backup copy of all my work and

kept it for later revisions.
