This statement is false because, although that it does raise your cholesterol, there are bad fats and good fats.
The bad fats, saturated and trans increase your cholesterol and have a risk of certain diseases and the good fats, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats lower that high cholesterol risk and protect your heart from such diseases.
