GROW AND GO

Mark 16:15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

Luke 24:4949 Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.” (NKJV)

Acts 1:8 but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth."

There are as many destinies in this room as there are people.

Each of us has a specific plan that God desires to fulfill in life.

But parts of our destinies are exactly the same.

Each destiny will include these scriptures as a central purpose.

I like Rick Warren’s summary of the five central purposes that are the same for every believer found in his book the purpose driven life.

We were planned for God's pleasure - WORSHIPWe were formed for God's family - FELLOWSHIPWe were created to become like Christ -DISCIPLESHIPWe were shaped for serving God -MINISTRYWe were made for a mission -EVANGELISM

In the next few minutes I want to speak about the fifth purpose number five:

We were made for a mission - EVANGELISM.

The mission we have is as specific and individual as each of us are. But the principles are pretty much the same.

In the last generation the word evangelism has taken a form that is primarily proclamation.

While it certainly has an aspect of proclamation if it is to be evangelical it also is about what we do in our everyday lives.

The E word often terrifies us.

EVANGELISM!

But I think it is so because we have been taught or we ourselves imagine that purpose to be something it may not be.

As one very wise person said,

Preach the Gospel wherever you go.

Use words if you have to.

A WALK TO REMEMBER…

Sometimes the greatest mission we will undertake will be simply walking across a room.

I can say that from my own experience. One of my greatest acts of evangelism was to walk across a High School Cafeteria.

You are as important to God’s plan as the apostle Paul.

But that does not always mean you will be famous for God.

Led by God’s Love in our hearts.

Its not Where you are it is Who you are.

Prayer PointsThat God would invade the world through you in your everyday life.That you would have God’s creativity in your heart to find your specific call and destiny.That God would lead you in specific ways to do the specific things He wants to do with your life and that you would be willing to follow His lead.That God’s love would be the basis of everything you do.For the others in your life that you are seeing God touch through you.
