TOMPWE
Our mining operation in Tompwe, is situated near the remote town of Mitwaba in Haut-Katanga province, approx. 510 Km North of Lubumbashi. Tompwe is an attractive growth, diversifi cation, and investment opportunity. Roughly 15 hours is required to drive to site, although there is a functional airstrip in Mitwaba suitable for large aircrafts. The concession, spanning more than 110 square kilometers, holds signifi cant tantalite and cassiterite deposits. Project execution will be led by AMS and KCS as operating partners.
The project is jointly owned between AMS and the concession holder, TSM Enterprises, and Rimitso Mining Services. Exploratory and geological fi eld work is in process and the initial tests indicate a viable, long-term project, capable of early production, with low capital expenditures and favorable return on investment.
AMS’s artisanal mining team, acting through KCS, is training and incorporating local communities by introducing low cost mining methods and establishing multiple artisanal washing facilities on site, in conjunction with more formalized mining and mineral processing activities. AMS is currently establishing the civil works required to address operational challenges. Nearest to completion is the engineering and installation of a 12-meter span bridge to access the concession and to assist with local infrastructure.
Initial, small scale Production to commence in October 2017
MINING VENTURES
As part of AMS’ vertically integrated investment strategy, we are now investing in our own mining operations and have already taken sizable interest in two separate concessions in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Community development initiatives, relevant to each location, are being designed so that AMS can continue to have a positive and sustainable impact on the local communities in which we operate.
MUTUMBA
Our mining operations in the Haut-Lomani province include a joint venture with Canadian-based Clairemont Metals. The Mutamba mine is located 2 hours South of Kamina and spans 290 square kilometers. The geologists have identifi ed copper and cobalt mineralization througout the concession .
The accessibility of the concession combined with the impressive initial recoveries make it an attractive investment opportunity. With the new partnership, AMS and Clairmont have laid out a clear plan to initial production.
The defi ned path for mine development involves the establishment of a DMS plant and a small mining fl eet that will be used to produce the concentrate. The concentrate will then be sent to Lubumbashi to be processed into blister copper for export.
AMS believes Mutumba can become a world class copper mine and we are dedicated to stimulating sustainable growth in the region as we become an effi cient mine owner. Production expected to commence in October 2017.
