Welcome to Greenwood, South Carolina

facilitiesw w w . v i s i t g r e e n w o o d s c . c o m

Beautiful Greenwood, South Carolina is located in the

Lower Piedmont region of Upstate South Carolina and

provides a friendly setting along with the progressive and

active environment of a larger city. The area is accessible

to three major interstates and only hours away from

several metropolitan areas such as Greenville, Columbia,

and Augusta, GA.

A leisurely visit through Greenwood

and the surrounding areas reveal many

interesting places to not only host a

conference or meeting, but to also

spend a few minutes or a few hours.

Along the SC Heritage Corridor,

Greenwood’s Discovery Route, are

numerous sites, including Park Seed, the Museum, and a

local goat farm, Emerald Farms. All are both historic and

entertaining.

The Emerald Triangle, a nine-acre triangular shaped

area in the heart of downtown, provides a new bustling

cultural center for the Uptown Greenwood area. While in

town, visiting the Arts and Visitors Center located in the

Federal Building is a must, as it always features beautiful

exhibits and fine art shown in the Countybank Gallery.

Next door, the Greenwood Community Theatre hosts

numerous performances throughout the year highlighting

Greenwood’s exceptional thespian talent.

Greenwood is an active tourism partner in the Old

Ninety Six Tourism District, which prides themselves as

the Freshwater Coast region. The politics of Freshwater

Coast has profoundly influenced

the state and nation, beginning with

Ninety Six, the original courthouse

village of the backcountry and strategic

outpost during the Revolution. The

fort and battle site are now the Ninety

Six National Historic Site, located in

Greenwood County. The site, which

is part of the National Park Service, hosts over 30,000

visitors each year and sponsors various reenactments and

history days throughout the year.

Additionally, there are many more opportunities for

recreation for your meetings with Greenwood’s many

golf courses, beautiful lake, and wide range of outdoor

activities. Greenwood’s excellent accommodations and

dining choices will provide you with a much needed

respite after a busy day of sightseeing and exploring.
