We define “green jobs” broadly, including all workers supporting an economy that is energy and resource efficient.

Higher education institutions have an opportunity and a responsibility to educate and (re-)train workers for the green economy.

Federal and state government needs to demonstrate leadership through example.

Students want a green education…and campus

“Green” cuts across department and college boundaries in higher education.

“Green” is an added dimension of training and awareness at technical colleges and trade schools.

Energy efficiency in buildings is the quickest and most cost-effective way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create “green jobs.” It is not even taught in most colleges, universities and technical schools.

Sustainability should be taught at elementary through post-secondary levels while schools and campuses should be models for green design and operations.
