forth in the G .R.C. Spec ific a tion. Quality c ontrol c om plies with BS 1169. Testing of G RC c om plies with BS EN 1170

or GRCA Me thod of Testing G RC m ateria l/ Part 1.

D. Spe c ified Op tion: If the G.R.C. sc op e a nd c om plexity warrant a prototyp e, upon reque st erect o neprototyp e unit on site or at o ur plant for inspe c tion and ap proval by the a rc hitect.

2.01 MATERIALSA. GlassFibe r Reinforce d Cem ent: High density com po site ma de of Portland c em ent, silica sand , and

po lymers reinforce d with c hop ped Alkali-Resista nc e g lass fiber. Manufa c ture by p remix or spraying in

ac c ording to req uireme nts.

B. Where exposed face fasteners are used, these shall be stainless steel; all other fasteners or connectors shallbe ga lvanized or plated .

C. Misc ellaneo us ma terials: All other m a terials i.e. b olted anc hors, sc rew s, wa shers, c lips and ad hesives to bepe r manufa c turers shop drawings and/ or job spe c ifica tions.

EXECUTION

3.01 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING

A. All G.R.C. materials shipped to be plac ed in custom built c rate s or pa llets, and shippe d in a ma nner thatwill protec t the p iece s from da ma ge , dirt, moisture a nd wa rping.

B. Suppo rt piec es during shipment on no n-sta ining shoc k ab sorbing ma terials.C. Lift and supp ort piece s only at p oints indic ate d for attac hment o n drawings.D. Storage : Onc e unc rate d, m ate rial to b e stored in a n upright p osition on a flat, smoo th a nd level surfac e.

Avoid stac king and leaning of piec es as much as possible.

E. Cover and prote c t piec es from e xcessive dirt, mo isture, surfac e d ama ge or other job site hazards.3.03 ERECTION

A. Safety: insta ller is responsible fo r ha nd ling a nd insta lling the G.R.C. ma te ria l in a safe manne r.B. Experienced wo rkmen to insta ll the G .R.C. piec es. Ma terials will be insta lled level and plump a nd a s pe r

ap prove d d rawings. All piec es will be sec urely anc hored a nd joints finished as show n in the ap prove d

shop d ra wings.

3.04 TAPING, PATCHING AND CONTROL JOINTSA. Exterior tap e a nd b ed joints are to b e a ttac hed with an exterior grade c onstruc tion ad hesive. Then ta pe d

and floated using fiberglass mesh tap e a nd a bed ding c omp ound o f Portland ce ment, bond ing a gent,

wa ter and fine washed silica sand and c lean the joint to ma tc h piec e surfac e a nd shap e.

B. Countersunk fasteners and da ma ge a re to b e pa tc hed using sam e be dd ing c om po und a s used to floa tjoints.

C. Control joints or expo sed joints to b e filled with a pp rop riate b ac ker rod and a sea lant c ap ab le ofwithstanding 0.25% joint movem ent b etw ee n G.R.C. pa nels.

3.05 PROTECTION

4.01 SUNYARDS is wa rranting our G.R.C. prod uc ts for one (1) yea r from the da te of ac c ep tanc e to rem ain free from

c rac ks, chips and ma rks by de fec tive ma terial or workmanship.
