1. Add s to the singular: incentive, incentives; factor, factors; piece, pieces

s pronounced /s/ aftera p, k or fsounds. Otherwise pronounced /z/.

Afterce, ge,se orze an extra i sound (/iz/) is added.

2. Add es aftero orch, sh,ss orx: hero, heroes; crash, crashes; fax, faxes

branch, branches; address, addresses

3. But words of foreign origin or abbreviated words ending in o add sonly:

kilo, kilos photo, photos radio, radios

When es is placed afterch, sh,ss orx an extra i sound (/iz/) is added.

4. Add ies aftery; y becomes i: company, companies; factory, factories

Words ending in y after a vowel ad s: delay, delays day, days
