A Brief Report on the Observance of Communal Harmony Campaign Week and Flag Day

Communal Harmony campaign week was celebrated in Government College of Arts, Science &

Commerce, Khandola from 19th November 2019 to 25

th November 2019.

The main objective of celebrating the Communal Harmony week was to spread the message of

Communal Harmony and National Integration among the students, teachers and local public.

Day 1-19th

November 2019:

The programme was inaugurated on 19th

November 2019 in the college seminar hall. After inaugural

session a group singing competition was held and 3 groups participated for the same. The winning

teams are as follows: 1st place- Chaitali and group, 2

nd place- Prasad and group, 3

rd place-Rohit and

group.

Day 2-20th

November 2019:

The second day, 20th

November 2019, painting competition on the topic Communal Harmony &

National Integrity was held. Wherein 10 students comprised of 4 teams having 2 members each and 2

individual participants. The winners are as follows: 1st place- Gaurav D. Gawas, 2

nd place- Shreya

Kerkar, 3rd

place-Chetan Laate and Myron Pereira.

Day 3-21st November 2019:

On the third day, 21st November 2019, Essay writing competition was held wherein 7 students

participated. The topic for the Essay writing competition was communal harmony and national

integration. The winners are as follows: 1st place- Gourang Gokuldas Naik, Fredal Fernandes, 2

nd

place- Prasad Bhavani, 3rd

place-Santosh Ramjit Yadav.

Day 4-22nd

November 2019:

On the fourth day, 22nd

November 2019, Slogan Writing & Slogan Recitation Competition was held.

On this day our beloved principal Dr. Purnakala Samant motivated the students with her inspirational

words. Following the slogan writing competition participants presented their slogan on the stage. A

total of 20 participants participated for the same. The winners are as follows: 1st place- Rohitkumar

Singh, 2nd

place-Kirti Naik, Michael Fernandes, 3rd

place-Shreyali Baadkar.

Day 5-23rd

November 2019:

On the fifth day, 23rd

November 2019, a small skit on ‘Hamara Bharat’ scripted by Mr. Rohit Sawant

was presented in Vasant VS Kukalekar Higher Secondary School Ella, Old Goa wherein a message on

communal harmony and national integration was spread via the small skit.

Day 6-25th

November 2019:

On the sixth day, 25th

November 2019, Flag Day was held where in flags were distributed to students,

teachers and to people outside the college and funds were collected.
