Gothas et Berthas is abook published just after World War I that illustrates scenes of destruction in and around Paris. The book's title is a reference to the deadline weaponry of the German army. The" Big Bertha" was a 42cm howitzer, one of the German army’s most effective long-range artillery pieces. The Gothas were twin engine German bombers put into service over Paris in 1916, and able to carry 1100 pound bombs. This book illustrates the destruction wrought by Berthas and Gothas in Paris betwee 1916-1918.
