The ISSN Network today– Has been growing steadily since 1975, signature by

France and Unesco of the intergovernmental Treaty for the creation of ISSN IC.

– Now consists of 88 Member countries – Russia & Kenya to join soon!

– Represented by national libraries, book chambers and scientific institutions worldwide.

– Coordinated by ISSN International Centre based in Paris.

– 2015: 40th Anniversary of ISSN network – ISSN = ISO 3297 standard that will come under

systematic review in 2016.

The ISSN Register todayTotal number of records: 1,822,8791,653,245 records for print resources, 169,634 records for online resources (as of Sept. 2015).
