Make a Wiki”—Nupedia users balked, so they started this in a new format and called it Wikipedia which launched January 15, 2001.

• Within six months it was wildly successful and had killed off most of its predecessors and competitors. In September of that year it was proclaimed “Interpedia is dead—long live Wikipedia”. When Nupedia crashed in September of 2003, it was never restored.

• With purposefully limited policy, Wikipedia’s community is constantly faced with the dilemma of consensus among its users. To represent such a diverse community with neutrality and respect is indeed a challenge to any community, let alone one producing an encyclopedia.
