SAFELINK WIRELESS:

Community Action Committee of Pike County’s Social Services Department is now offering assistance with the completion of a

SafeLink Wireless Application. SafeLink Wireless is a government supported

program that provides a free cell phone and airtime each month for income-eligible customers. Thanks to SafeLink, Lifeline

Telephone Assistance Program, which has been around for years, is now available for

wireless phones. Please Note: Customers who receive Lifeline Telephone Assistance on their home phone are ineligible for a free cell phone. Customers

may receive only one phone per household. Customers are eligible if they receive benefits from one of the following programs: Section 8, Medicaid, Food Stamps, SSI, Free School Lunch, General Assistance/Disability, HEAP, SSDI, OWF, or TANF. TracFone Wireless pays for the phones and the cost of promoting its SafeLink Program to make sure eligible consumers know about the program.

Ohio customers receive 68 free minutes each month and the minutes are added automatically to their phone during the first week of each month.

More information is available by contacting the Community Action Committee of Pike County Social Services Department at (740) 289-2371, The Pike County Senior Center at (740) 947-5555, or TDD (740)

289-2608. In addition, you can visit www.safelinkwireless.com
