New Sermon Series Starting May 1 Good Work We are God’s handiwork, created to do good works. While many consider work to be a four-letter word and a necessary evil, work is both an expression of God’s image in us and His gift to us. Come find out more!
Sermon Journals Available at all Guest Service DesksLearn more about, “Good Work” by reading along in the journal as we examine God’s view of work in our lives. Available at the Guest Services desks and the main office for $5.00.

Current Sermon SeriesApril 24 -As we address our doubts in regard to religion, the Church, Christians and hypocrites, it is helpful to avoid sweeping generalizations. If the Church engages the people the way Jesus did, the Church gets filled with moral failures and challenging people—but these are people, we are people, and all of us are in the process of being transformed.
2016 Confirmation BaptismsAfter our students go through confirmation, they are asked if they would like to join Asbury. Today 22 students have decided to take that public profession of faith and become a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. This is part of their confirmation journey and tonight, 81 7th graders will join the church during the confirmation service.

Welcome Bishop Mameo from TanzaniaAsbury welcomes Lutheran Bishop Jacob Mameo from Tanzania and Asbury-supported missionaries Robert and Linda Spitaleri in our services today.
Bishop Mameo serves the Morogoro Diocese in Tanzania, where Asbury has worked among the Kami people since 1997. The Spitaleris have recently retired from serving in this same area with The Mission Society since 2003 and in Asia prior to that.
Tanzania is one of Asbury’s primary focus areas for mission. Asbury’s Global Outreach chose to work among the Kami because they were an unreached people group – an ethnic group without an indigenous, self-propagating Christian church movement. Some of the Kami are Muslim and some practice traditional religions such as animism. Through partnership with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania, Asbury has helped establish about 30 churches among the Kami, and the percentage of Christians among the Kami is approaching two percent. Praise be to God! Over the years, Asbury has regularly sent medical, water well and construction teams.
Want to learn more? Meet Bishop Mameo and Robert Spitaleri at an informal reception in the Parlor this Tuesday, April 26 from 7-8:30 pm.
Or join the mission in Tanzania? A construction team will be rebuilding a church in Tanzania September 2-11. Speak with Jim Davis or Marilene Long in Asbury’s Outreach office for details or other opportunities for involvement.
