Document 1. Overview

Opportunity management Global Partner Portal Opportunity Management (OM) offers streamlined, easy-to-use navigation for opportunity creation and updates that are fully compatible with IBM's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Opportunity Management on Global Partner Portal is the start of IBM's Opportunity-to-Cash model and offers many improvements over PartnerWorld Lead Management (PWLM). The benefits to Business Partners include:

• Simplified sales stage model (5 sales stages, reduced from 11)

• Significantly reduced data requirement

• Opportunity registration

• Enhanced protection of Business Partner data

• Enhanced collaboration between IBM and Business Partners

• System to system opportunity exchange – no manual re-keying

For both initiatives, Global Partner Portal provides each participating IBM Business Partner with a central document repository to store opportunity relevant documents. It also gives IBM teams easier and faster access to these documents, which are critical to understanding the opportunity-development work that a Business Partner has invested. Global Partner Portal enables IBM Administrators to transfer data between all organizations that are interested in an opportunity and to store data on the Web rather than their computer.

About this guide Global Partner Portal (GPP) allows an IBM seller to pass an opportunity created in CRM Siebel to a Business Partner as long as the Business Partner owns the opportunity and is the primary on it. In addition, the opportunity will be updated in GPP and returned to CRM Siebel. Once a Business Partner has been deployed on GPP, they will be able to manage all of their opportunities in GPP and will no longer need to use Partner World Lead Management (PWLM).

A series of Data Jobs will be performed by the GPP Operations Team to ensure that deployment readiness tasks are done. Some of these Data Jobs will monitor, accept, reject, or withdraw CRM Siebel opportunities. This guide will assist the GPP Operations Team to complete deployment/enablement for the Business Partners to GPP OM using the Data Jobs that allow IBM sellers to pass an opportunity to a Business Partner in GPP and for the updated opportunity to be returned to CRM Siebel. Some of the work described in this guide is performed by the Business Partner Database (BPDB) team or the Data Operations team and noted as such.

Timetable for monthly cycle to enable new Business Partners to participate in opportunity management A series of monthly Data Jobs are used to enable new Business Partners to begin using the GPP Opportunity Management functions. Geography business teams invite selected Business Partners to participate in a given month’s Business Partner enablement cycle and work to validate Business Partner information. The Geo Business Operations teams create a “Driver File” that contains the information on the Business Partners to be enabled that month. A regular cadence has been established for the monthly Data Jobs in each geography. This cadence ensures that schedules are locked with geography data operations teams and that all predecessors/successor jobs are managed. The cadence is based on the following:

1. Data Job 10479 runs on the second Tuesday of each month for AP and Europe. 10479 runs one day later (Wed) for Americas. 2. Data Job 10981 precedes 10479. It runs on the Friday or Monday prior to 10479 for AP/Europe or Americas respectively. 3. The Driver Files for monthly Business Partner enablement are needed two weeks prior to running the first monthly data job

(10981).
