Principal’s Report

This week we will hold Presentation Day events for Early Stage 1/Stage 1 on Wednesday 7th December, Stage 2 on Thursday 8th December and Stage 3 on Friday 9th December. This is always a great way to finish the year as we celebrate the many achievements of the students throughout the year. We look forward to having a great many of our families and friends join us for these events. Please remember that all students should wear their sports shirt and black shoes on their respective presentation days.

Semester two reports will be sent home on Monday 12th December. Parents who wish to make an appointment to discuss the report with their class teacher should contact the office as soon as possible.

End of Year Library Returns

Library borrowing has ended for the year and we are now requesting that books be returned to the Library. Overdue notices were sent out last week. Your assistance in returning these resources is appreciated.

Borrowing will re-commence early next year.

Purple Pinkie Day

On Tuesday 13th December 2016, the two recipients of the Rotary Citizenship Awards from Glen Innes Public School will be holding a special fundraiser for polio. It will require students and staff to make a gold coin donation to have their pinkie nail painted purple. In return, they will receive a sticker/poster.

They are holding this day because Rotary is wanting to eradicate polio. Polio is a disease that paralyses your body from your head down.

All donations for the purple pinkie day will be going to Rotary to be put towards the cure for polio. Thank you

Alex Woods and Lucy Goldman

Review of School Bell Times

Due to various factors at the school we are considering adjusting the bell times next year. We are currently in the planning stages and will notify the school community of the outcome before the end of the school year.

Start and end times will remain the same, only the bell times throughout the day will change.

GIPS App

There is currently an issue with the school app that should be remedied by today.

School Student Security

In an effort to enhance the safety of all our students and especially in light of the fact that the school fronts the Highway, we will be implementing locks to the front gates. The school gates will be locked during school hours from 9:10am to 3:15pm.

Access to the school will be via the front office and all visitors and contractors will firstly need to present to the front office to gain entry. We hope that you appreciate our important purpose in instigating this process.
