BRIEF HISTORY
-In 1814, the Congress of Vienna established the German Confederation of 39
independent German states.
-In 1864, war Prussia and Austria vs. Denmark.
-In 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary and his wife were
assassinated in Sarajevo.
-In 1918, the Treaty of Versailles ended World War I and the Rhineland was placed
under Allied occupation for 15 years.
-In 1918, the Germany was declared a republic.
-In 1933, Adolf Hitler appointed chancellor by President Paul von Hindenburg.
ADOLF HITLER
Adolf Hitler was an Austrian, born German
politician and Leader of Nazi Party (1934-1945).
He was born on 20th April 1889 and dreamed of
being an artist.
He developed a deep hatred for the Communists
and Jews.
He was associated with world war II.
He served ninth months in prison.
POPULATION • The population is about 80,621,788.
• Male population is about 39,568,902.
• Female population is about 41,052,886.
• German is the official and predominant spoken language in Germany.
• It is one of the 23 spoken official languages in European union and one of the three working languages of the European Commission along with English and French.
LANGUAGE
• The sole currency of Germany has been the Euro since 2002.
• Today’s Euro Rate in Pakistan is 132.07 Rupees.
CURRENCY
• Germany has a number of large cities.
• The most populor are Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Frankfurt, Austria and Stuttgart.

Sports• Sport is an important part of
German culture and society. In 2006 about 27.5 million people were members of the more than 91,000 sport clubs in Germany.
• Almost all sports clubs are represented by the Deutscher Olympischer Sportbund.
