OUR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES CONTINUEOur corporate philosophy involves continually reviewing, improving and expanding our products and our core competences utilizing the most modern research and development standards. GC Corporation is the winner of the Japan Quality Medal - the highest authority on quality management in the world. We produce over 600 different dental products, covering the entire range of consumables, instruments and devices for the dental practice and the dental laboratory. In 2007, GC Corporation set up the new R&D centre to further revitalize research and development. The new creative space was designed to create a communication loop enabling researchers to freely exchange opinions and information and provide inspiration to each other. Following the communication exchange philosophy, we successively inaugurated in 2011 our new Corporate Centre, a 9 story 5,600 square meter building with open communication spaces, simulation room, multiple lecturing and training rooms and offices. The examination of a patient is not limited to the teeth, but takes the risk factors for caries into account like diet, brushing habits, the quantity and buffering capacity of saliva, the amount of cariogenic bacteria (like Mutans Streptococci) in saliva and the cariogenicity of plaque. In order to diagnose and monitor caries, the diagnostic threshold has to be reduced to the first clinical signs of caries in enamel. These early forms are clinically detectable in fissures and on flat surfaces as well as on x-rays for the interproximal areas. The use of diagnostic tools like Saliva-Check MUTANS test kit, GC Tri Plaque ID Gel, Saliva-Check BUFFER kit, not only helps you to get the most relevant information about your patient’s susceptibility but also helps to motivate your patient.

Along with the advantages for posterior restorations, GC Fuji IX GP is often chosen when the final treatment plan has not been decided on. Many treatments are possible: a sandwich technique with a composite material, an inlay or simply the glass ionomer filling itself.
