Day 1 Depart Maitland and transfer to Sydney airport for evening departure to Istanbul.

Day 2 Arrive in Istanbul and transfer to your hotel for early check-in then commence city tour. (Breakfast & Dinner included)

Day 3 Depart for Gallipoli to visit the Gallipoli Museum. Next three nights in Eceabat. (Breakfast & Dinner included)

Day 4 & 5 Visit ANZAC Cove, Lone Pine Cemetery, Johnston’s Jolly, The Nek, Chunuk Bair, Brighton Beach, Beach Cemetery, Ari Burnu Cemetery, the Turkish 57th Regiment Memorial, as well as the Landing Beaches, Redoubt Cemetery, Pink Farm Cemetery, Twelve Tree Copse Cemetery, Skew Bridge Cemetery, the Turkish, French and British Memorials, and more with our renowned historian, Kenan Celik OAM. (Breakfast included)

Day 6 After breakfast transfer to Istanbul for our fl ight to Paris. (Breakfast included)

Day 7 We depart Paris by coach with our Battlefi elds Specialist Tour Manager, travelling northeast to Meaux visiting the Museum of the Great War (Musee de la Grande Guerre) built near site of fi rst battle of Marne in 1914 and in Dormans, see one of France's four French National Memorials. Next stop, Fort de la Pompelle which played an important role in the 1914 - 1918 war and was the only fort to remain in the hands of the allied forces during WWI protecting the city of Reims. Now reconverted into a museum, it contains important military collections. The last visit of the day is La Main de Massiges Trenches, a vast complex of trenches and fortifi cations restored to its original condition. Overnight Verdun. (Breakfast & Dinner included)

Day 8 The tour around Verdun visits Douaumont Ossuary, Necropolis, Underground Citadel (Citadelle Souterraine), The Crenellated Port Chaussee Medieval River Gateway, the only one remaining after the war and Verdun Memorial, one of Europe’s principle Great War museums. Our last visit of today is a tour of Dragon’s Cavern (Caverne du Dragon) and Chemin des Dames Museum. This is the site of the 2nd Battle of Aisne, a very important battle ground where 100,000 died fi ghting over a 100m high ridge. Overnight Compiegne. (Breakfast & Dinner included)

Day 9 Explore Armistice Museum Compiègne (Musée de l’Armistice), where the Armistice was signed in 1918 in a railway carriage. The museum also contains 700 stereoscopic photographs presenting life in the trenches from 1914 - 1918. Then visit La Neuville-Les-Bray for the Little Train of the Upper Somme and Railway Museum, built in 1916 for the battle of the Somme and used to supply trenches with weapons. Now it is a tourist train and museum. The Peronne Historial de la Grande Guerre is one of the most important museums dedicated to the First World War in France. Overnight in Amiens. Day 10 Today, we visit many memorials to the fallen, including 4th Australian Division Memorial, the Bellicourt, American, Australian and British Memorials, and Cambrai, which is known for its tank battles. Then, we visit a tank called “Deborah", AD51 28-ton tank which was used in battle and dug up out of the ground in 1998. Also in Cambrai, we pay respects at Louveral British Memorial to those missing or have no known grave and see the Monument of the Nations of the Battle of Cambrai. We’ll also see Arras, Wellington Quarry Museum (Carriere Wellington), Bullecourt Memorial Park, Bapaume Australian Cemetery and Australian 2nd Division Memorial at Mont St Quentin. Day 11 Enjoy a free day in Amiens to explore. Visit Cathedrale Notre Dame, Musee de Picardie (Museum of Fine Arts), Lou Medieval Quarter, Maison Jules Verne, Tour Perret, one of Europe's fi rst skyscrapers, a traditional marionettes and puppet theatre and Les Hortillonnages (Marsh Gardens), unusual gardens that can only be accessed by boat. These gardens were cultivated since the middle ages and guided visits to Les Hortillonnages are available in the afternoon. Overnight Amiens. (Breakfast included)

Day 12 In the Somme, we discover the site of the Big Push (1 July - 17 November 1916). Starting in Albert with the Somme Museum, then Bapaume Post Militay Cemetery, Lochnagar Crater and the 38th Welsh Division Red Dragon Memorial. In Delville Wood, we'll visit the South African National Memorial Museum and an original Hornbeam tree. Then we explore the Thiepval Visitor Centre, Memorial and Anglo-French Cemetery and the Ulster Tower Memorials and Visitor Centre which honours all the Irish soldiers. The last place we’ll visit is Newfoundland Memorial Park. Overnight Amiens. (Breakfast included)

Day 13 Today, we start with the Necropole Nationale de Saint-Quentin, German Trenches near Fayet, Fayet Memorial and Enghien Redoubt. Then we visit the Australian Corps Memorial Park, Le Hamel Battlefi eld, Villers-Bretonneux’s Demarcation Stone, the Town Hall, and the Villers-Bretonneux School and Franco-Australian Museum. Later we’ll explore the American, Canadian and French sector with a visit to the Crucifi x Corner Cemetery, Canadian Cavalry Brigade, Memorial to the battles of Rile, Moreuil Wood, Memorial to French 31st Army Corps, Morevil Town WW1 Memorial, American Monument and more. Overnight Amiens. (Breakfast included)

Day 14 Today you’ll start in Doullens, visiting the Hall of the Sole Command, then onto Montreuil-sur-Mer to explore La Citadelle, the General Headquarters of Field Marshal Douglas Haig and its museum. In Boulogne-sur-Mer, we visit Wimereux Communal Cemetery, the headstone of Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, a Canadian doctor and poet who cared for wounded soldiers and wrote the famous poem 'In Flanders Fields'. Our last visit of the day, is the battlefi eld of Yser, which took place over Veurne, Nieuwpoort and Diksmuide. Overnight Ypres. (Breakfast & Dinner included)

Day 15 Journey to Canadian National Vimy Memorial with preserved trenches and tunnels. Then to Neuville-Saint-Vaast for a visit to La Maison Blanche, the largest German War Cemetery in France. In Ablain-Saint-Nazaire, visit Notre-Dame de Lorette, a French national war cemetery and memorial inscribed with 600,000 names on all sides. Behind the cemetery, the museum traces daily experiences of Great War soldiers with reconstructed underground shelters and battlefi eld. In Loos-en-Gohelle, visit Musee Alexandre Villedieu, a display of objects collected from the battlefi eld, grouped by nationality. Also see Dud Corner Cemetery and Loos Memorial showing names of 20,000 soldiers who have no known graves. Then visit Fromelles and witness V.C. Corner Australian Cemetery, Pheasants Wood Military Cemetery, Museum of the Battle of Fromelles and Australian Memorial Park. Overnight Ypres. (Breakfast included)

Day 16 Enjoy a free day, to explore Ypres city centre and surrounds. We suggest a visit to In Flanders Fields Museum, allow two hours or more to visit, then visit St George’s Memorial Church, the Menin Gate, and Indian Forces Memorial. There are also several walks to explore the city; Vauban Ramparts (2.6 kms), showcases ten centuries of fortifi cations and bastions of the city; Heritage Footpath (5.3kms), follows a complete footpath in the Ypres inner city; and Natural Reserve the Palingbeek 'De Palingbeek', a paradise for walkers of all kinds. Day 17 Explore the site of the 1st Battle (18 October-11 November 1914), 2nd Battle and gas attack (22 April - 25 May 1915) and 3rd Battle, Passchendaele (7 June - 10 November 1917). Also see Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, the second largest cemetery in Belgium and the Lijssenthoek Visitor Centre which tells the history of the fi eld hospitals. Then we visit Essex Farm Cemetery, Albertina Memorial and 49th (West Riding) Division Memorial. Then in Boezinge, explore archaeological battlefi eld sites including the Yorkshire Trench, and Tyne Cot Cemetery, the largest cemetery for Commonwealth forces in the world, for any war. Also discover the Passchendaele Memorial Museum, Zonnebeke Battlefi eld, Polygon Wood Cemetery and more. Overnight Ypres. (Breakfast & Dinner included)

Day 18 Today, we continue exploring the region with a visit to Hill 60. Here you’ll see the memorial to the Queen Victoria's Rifl es, 14th Light Division and 1st Australian Tunnelling Company, as well as a monument to St Eloi Tunnellers. Also see preserved trenches and bunkers, Hooge Crater Museum, and Bayernwald, an open-air museum and enjoy a free 20-minute fi lm about the battle of Messine. Last place we’ll visit is Poperinge Talbot House, which was converted into a concert hall during the war. This afternoon transfer back to our Paris hotel and say farewell to our Battlefi elds Specialist Tour Manager. (Breakfast included)
