Resurfacing existing pavement on US 24 from
Constitution to the Garrett Intersection. Work includes
reconfiguration of US 24 and Garrett Intersection into a
Florida T type intersection and replace the signal;
change exsiting side slopes between Garrett and
Constitution from 2:1 side slope to 3:1 min/4:1 max as per
AASHTO Roadside Design Guide to meet clear zone
requirements from this type of facility; reconfigure lane,
shoulder and Z slopes as per widths in CDOT Design
Guide Table 4.1 and Figured 4.1 for Type A. Work also

This project will implement first phase improvements

Hancock Expressway PEL study. The improvements will
be multi-modal in nature and improve the southern part
of the Hancock and Academy Boulevard intersection.
Activities and improvements include the removal of the
existing obsolete ramp in the SW quadarant of the
intersection, improved transit access and circulation
with the addition of a new full-movement traffic signal
south of Hancock Expressway, removal of a roadway
bottleneck by widening Academy Boulevard to 6 lanes
to match the section south of Proby Parkway and north
of Hancock Expressway, and installation of curb, gutter,
sidewalks, trails and median improvements.

Jackson Creek Parkway (JCP) is a major north south
road from Baptist Road to Highway 105. The project is
intended to increase the 2 lane segment to 4 lanes to
insure safety and capacity. The portion of JCP south of
Higby Road is in the jurisdiction of Triview Metropolitan
District. North of Higby Road is the jurisdiction of the Town
of Monument. The scope of work for this portion of the
project consists of preconstruction and mitigation phases
only. Additionally, the preconstruction and construction
phases of a bicycle/pedestrian facility will be
completed.

Springs
This project consists of design and construction of an
extended detention basin (EDB) located between the
South Bank of Fountain Creek and US 24 west of Ridge
Road in Colorado Springs. The EDB will collect water
from drainages to the south via two proposed 36”
culverts aligned under US 24 on the west side of the
Ridge Road Intersection. Water will discharge from the
EDB into Fountain Creek through an outlet structure, and
in high flow events, through an overflow weir located on
the north side of the EDB.

The Copper Ridge Metro District will be designing and
constructing phase I of North Powers Boulevard located
between I-25 and Voyager Parkway in COS. Phase I
consists of the I-25/North Gate/North Powers interchange
complex on the west end of the connection and a
signalized intersection at I-25/Voyager on the east end.
This segment of Powers Boulevard will be constructed
with two lanes in each direction.
