ABOUT THE INSTITUTION

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Established in 2004 with a mission,' To prepare highly competent Automobile Engineers for global automotive industries through innovative, industry oriented curriculum and intensive practical training'. The Depar tment offers two Undergraduate programs (Automobile Engineering and Automotive Electronics) and one Post graduation program (Automotive Hybrid Systems in Collaboration with NFDTC). Qualied and dynamic young faculty members shape up the millennials for the future. Faculty strength is 35
About 100 research papers have been published in refereed international journals and about 150 papers in international / national conferences. Well-equipped and state of the art laboratory facilities such as Automotive Components lab, Vehicle Testing lab, Vehicle Dynamics lab, Machine Shop, Automotive Design lab, Automotive Electrical system lab, Automotive Electronics lab, Electric Vehicle lab, Driving Simulator lab and IC Engine lab are in place Automotive Electronics and Electrical System lab were set up with the industry partner
M/s. BOSCH in enhancing their technologies skill sets which in turn leverage the chances of better placement in core industries. Major areas of research interest are Alternative fuel technology and Emission Control, Green Vehicle Technologies, Engine technology, Automotive Materials and Automotive Design
We have formed Seven Teams (The Conrods (BAJA SAEINDIA), Camber Racing (SUPRA SAEINDIA), 4ZE Racing, Team Enigmatic Plodder, Team Ineon Super Milage, Team Full Throttle and The Torque). These teams had won several awards, rewards and recognitions by participating in National and International events like BAJA, Gokarting, SUPRA, FSAE etc. The Automobile Engineering department at Kattankulathur campus is afliated to Automotive Skill Development Council, Government of India. The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), UK had accredited the Department in 2016.
ABOUT THE SEMINAR
To enlighten and tweak the technical / professional acumen on the recent trends in clean, green, lean and connected mobility Technology - embraced by Automotive manufacturers spread across the globe. Also, there is a huge potential for personalization and customization of the vehicles across the board. This, in turn puts tremendous pressure to evolve lighter, affordable, cost effective, durable, reliable, environment friendly products for global markets within a shorter product development cycle.
From, “Bi-Cycle to battle tank Technologies”, there is intense focus on , Standardization, platform sharing, Modularity, cross engineering, global products and operational / manufacturing excellence.
Cascading of valuable experience by industry experts ( pertaining to their domains ) will be the key take away for the participants.
