Dear Colleagues,

It is our pleasure to invite you to the 2020 RANZCO Tasmania Branch Annual Scientific Meeting to be held from 12 - 14 June in Hobart, Tasmania.

The theme of the meeting will be “Future of Eye Care 2050”.

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) is developing the “Future of Eye Care 2050” A Vision of Eye Health. Using complex statistical analysis, population data, expert insights into technological developments and our recognised position as the leaders of eye care, the vision will articulate and predict what the future may bring. We need to draw on an even broader Government, Industry and Expert knowledge base to produce an all-encompassing vision.

We seek to do this through a weekend forum which will be take place at the RANZCO Tasmania Branch Meeting on 12-14 June 2020. The weekend will bring a diverse range of stakeholders together for an unprecedented opportunity to predict and effect meaningful outcomes.

The meeting has several components:

Friday 14 June:

• Meeting Day 1: A full day of scientific sessions and invited talks addressing the meeting theme “Future of Eye Care 2050”.

Saturday 13 June:• Meeting Day 2: A half day of scientific sessions and invited talks addressing the meeting theme “Future of Eye

Care 2050”.

• Workshops: Following the lunch break, a series of half hour workshops will take place on a variety of specialised fields. Each workshop will discuss the field in the future of eye care context.

• RANZCO Council Meeting: The RANZCO National Council will convene for a half day meeting following lunch on Saturday.

• A full day master class on eye care equipment. In this interactive session, invited representatives from industry will provide updates and demonstrations on the use and application of the latest eye care equipment. This masterclass is designed to educate ophthalmologists, orthoptists, optometrists, technicians and support staff on how to get the most out of their use of the latest equipment and technologies and understand equipment capabilities.

Sunday 14 June:• Meeting Day 2: A wrap up of the future of eye care meeting, the annual Bruce Hamilton Lecture, clinical case and

audit presentations.

We look forward to welcoming you to Hobart at this exciting time and urge you to register as well as book your accommodation and flights early to avoid disappointment. It is a wonderful opportunity to catch up with colleagues and friends – old and new, to share memories and get updated on the latest news and information in ophthalmology. To register for the meeting click the following link: https://cdesign.eventsair.com/2020ranzco/regportal
