Awards for All: England

Between £300 and £10,000 to fund a specific project or activity. .

Organisations can now apply for £10,000 every year rather than every two years, and Awards for All will now fund repeat events and activities more than three years apart. Awards for All distribute Lottery funding to voluntary groups for the benefit of their community. Awards for All England no longer funds small projects based mainly on sports, arts or heritage and so applications need to demonstrate wider community benefits such as ‘healthier and more active people and Communities’. For sports participation focused applications see Sport England Small Grants instead

https://www.biglotteryfund.org.uk/global-content/programmes/england/awards-for-all-england Applications assessed year round.

Bag4Sport Foundation

Up to £500 Organisations can apply for a small grant of up to £500 to assist with the costs of coaching, equipment, kit, travel expenses etc. Individual athletes (up-and-coming, elite, able-bodied or disabled) are also eligible to apply for a small grant of up to £500 to assist with training costs, kit and travel costs.

Big Lottery - Reaching Communities

£10,000 - £500,000

The Reaching Communities programme has two strands:

Reaching Communities revenue and small capital – funding from £10,000 to £500,000 for revenue projects and/or smaller capital projects up to £50,000

Reaching Communities buildings – funding of between £100,000 and £500,000 for large capital projects

Reaching Communities funds projects that help people and communities most in need. Projects can be new or existing, or be the core work of your organisation. Every project we fund must:

Respond to need - Need is the term we use to describe a problem or issue, or situation where something needs to change to make things better for a person, or group of people or environment.

Involve the people who will benefit from the project in planning and running the project

Achieve one or more of the following four outcomes: 1. People having better chances in life, with better access to training and development to improve their life skills 2. Stronger communities, with more active citizens working together to tackle their problems 3. Improved rural and urban environments, which communities are better able to access and enjoy 4. Healthier and more active people and communities.

Cash 4 Clubs Awards of £250, £500 and £1,000 available

Any sports club that is registered with its sports' National Governing body or local

authority can apply. We do not restrict entries to certain sports or certain activities. You

Healthier Finances – tackling financial poverty

Safer lives – reducing violence, abuse and exploitation

Stronger Communities –(Delivered via Community Foundation)

Fairer Society – ensuring people overcome inequality The minimum grant you can apply for in our UK Main Fund is £10,000 but we do not set an upper limit. We expect to make grants across a fairly wide spectrum of sizes but most will be between £20,000 and £40,000 per annum. We only make a small number of larger grants and, where this is the case, you’ll need to demonstrate that your work has either regional or national significance, is delivered by a number of partners or is clearly breaking new ground. Although we’re willing to fund up to 100% of the cost of the proposal, you are encouraged to seek other sources of funding as well. We would usually expect to fund a minimum of 25% of the total costs of the proposed activities, to ensure that it’s involved in the work in a meaningful way.

Sport England – Community Assets Fund

£50,000 - £150,000

The places where people play sport and get active really matter. Whether it’s the park you run through, the hall you do classes in or the pitch you play on, welcoming, convenient and accessible spaces have a big impact on a person’s experience – and likelihood of coming back. Help to transform community sports facilities Traditional sports facilities are an important part of this, but it can be much wider too. There are thousands of outdoor spaces up and down the country – like canal towpaths, reservoirs and woodlands – all with great potential to be used and enjoyed as part of an active lifestyle. If you know of a facility or space that’s important in your local area and could do with some help to improve it or open it up to more people, our new Community Asset Fund could be the answer. What are we looking for? We’re interested in talking to lots of different sports clubs and community organisations with great ideas to create, or improve, opportunities to play sport or just get active. For example, you might be:

A community organisation looking to take over a sports facility that might be under threat of closure or is underused.

A sports club that wants to expand or improve the sporting experience you offer your customers.

People who simply have a great idea for a project, like making physical improvements to a building or open space, that’s clearly needed in the local community.

Andy Fanshawe Memorial Trust

Unspecified The Trust gives grants that allow disadvantaged young people to take up opportunities to experience the great outdoors. The AFMT supports projects taking place within the United Kingdom, for reasons of cost-effectiveness. We prefer that applicants have done some fund-raising. The AFMT doesn’t fund taster sessions or one-off residential trips. We are unlikely to support environmental organisations, unless there is a strong outdoor element to the application. We are unlikely to support foreign trips. We don’t support capital projects. Mostly, we’re looking for enthusiasm and imagination.

www.andyfanshawe.org Applications should be made via email if possible, but written applications are acceptable.

Children in Need

Small Grants of £10,000 or less per year for up to three years

Main Grants over £10,000 per year for up to three years

Children in Need has a new strategy for its grants programmes:

Small grants (up to £10,000) - at least 100 extra grants will be made this year; the programme will have five grant rounds a year, instead of the previous four; and the response time is being reduced from 14 weeks to between eight and ten

Main grants (over £10,000) - a two-stage application process has been introduced, with four deadlines a year; and charities will find out within four weeks whether they have progressed to the full application stage

Both grants programmes offer grants for projects that combat disadvantage and make a real difference to children and young people's lives. Grants are available for projects that help children and young people of 18 years and under, who are experiencing:

illness, distress, abuse or neglect

any kind of disability

behavioural or psychological difficulties

life in poverty or situations of deprivation Your organisation and project must be based in the UK and you need to be a registered charity or other not-for-profit organisation.
