When travelling in wet or slipperyconditions, use care when acceleratingand braking. After driving through deepwater (over 5 cm’s deep) gently apply thebrakes whilst moving to dry them.

When travelling downhill, take extra carenot to use the brakes too much. Excessiveuse can cause the fluid to boil andbecome ineffective. If possible use theengine brake to keep the speed at a steadypace.

Page 7?

Only use the right foot to operateautomatic vehicle, don’t operate left andright foot together for this could causeexcessive wear on the brake pads.

The vehicle will only start, when the gearlever is in park.

The vehicle will only go into reverse, when the foot brake is operated.

Always leave the ignition in “lock”, whensleeping?

Tips when driving an automatic vehicle.

Vehicles fitted with automatic transmission are easier to drive for there is no needfor gear changes or clutch operation. But you must learn the techniques related to itsuse.

1. When the shift lever is in any position other than “P” or “N”, the vehicle maycreep forward even when the accelerator is not pressed.

2. When stationary, even on level ground, apply the foot brake to prevent thevehicle moving.

3. If the air conditioner is operating the engine will be idling faster than normal andmay cause the vehicle movement to be greater.
