Participants can book accommodation on campus from December 10 to 16.Those wishing to extend their stay may explore options in the city.

• Ola pedal, a public bicycle sharing system is an efficient mode of transport in the campus.Ola zones are set up in front of VH, Hall 13 and the International Hostel. The first 30 minutesof each ride is free. Instructions for using Ola pedal are as follows:

1. Locate a cycle at your nearest Ola zone.

7. Lock the cycle and make sure to end the ride on app

Miscellaneous

Shops inside the campus

• There are two general stores in the shopping centre and one in the new shopping centre.

• There are two bookstores, Noble Book Store and Tarun Book House, in the shopping centrewhich are open from 0930-2100.

Meeting rooms at the conference venue

The rooms KD102, KD103, RM301 along the open spaces in the RM building can be used fordiscussions and meetings. If additional rooms are required, please contact the CSE office staff.

Banking

The State Bank of India (SBI) and the Union Bank of India (UBI) have their branches and ATMs inthe Shopping Complex. ATMs for both banks are also located in front of Student Hall of Residence3 and are open round the clock. There is also an ICICI Bank ATM near the Hall 7 gate. All theATMs accept Visa and Mastercard. SBI also provides foreign exchange services. SBI and UBIworking hours are: 0930 - 1600 (Monday – Friday and Saturday, 16 Dec).

Medical

The campus has a Health Centre that is staffed by a team of doctors and health care providers.Emergency care is provided round the clock. Apollo pharmacy which is located behind the HealthCentre is open 24 hours. The pharmacy in the shopping center is open from 1030 till 2045 with lunchtimings from 1400 till 1500. Participants in need of immediate medical attention may approach thefront desk of the Health Center directly.

Things to do

• The IIT Kanpur campus is in itself a place worth exploring. Avid bird watchers can treatthemselves (not on a plate but on a film roll maybe) to the migratory birds who choose to makethe IIT campus their home at this time of the year. Visit http://www.birds.iitk.ac.in/

for more information. The swampy area behind Student Hall of Residence 8 is particularly afavorite haunt for bird watchers.

• Shopping. There are several places for shopping in the city. Kanpur is famous for leathergoods (Meston Road), the famous Lucknow Chikan clothes and sarees (Naveen Market andShivalya). Fabindia in Zsquare Mall is a popular outlet for ethnic Indian wear. There is also amarket in Gumti No. 5 for almost all items especially clothing. Handicrafts are also availableat the new shopping center in the campus.

• Delegates who wish to visit the banks of the holy river Ganga may like to plan a trip toBithoor which lies on the banks of the Ganges and is of historical significance owing to itsconnections with the First Indian War of Independence in 1857.

• For those who wish to visit the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri, the recommendedoption is to hire a car and drive to Agra. The distance is approximately 300KM. Agrahas many hotels where advance reservation is possible through websites like Booking.com,Cleartrip, Expedia and MakeMyTrip. You can also use services provided by Pearl Travels.Entry tickets for Taj Mahal can be bought online and guides can be hired (optional) at theentrance of the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is open from sunrise (around 0700) to sunset(around 1645).
