SUMMARY REPORT OF THE THIRTY-SEVENTH INTERNATIONALIRRIGATED RICE OBSERVATIONAL NURSERY (37
THIIRON Module 1)

No. of test entries : 75 from 7 NARES (India, Indonesia, Iran, Nepal, Pakistan,
Philippines, and Vietnam) and from two IARCs (CIAT and IRRI)
International check varieties : IR50 (very early-maturing), IR72 (early-maturing), IR 64 (early-maturing)
Experimental design : Augmented in Randomized Complete Block Design with 5 blocks
No. of trials conducted : 70 trials at 66 test sites in 27 countries
No. of data sets received : 48 from 47 test sites in 19 countries ( China, DPR Korea, Republic ofKorea, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Nepal,Pakistan, Egypt, Iran, and Suriname)
Highlights of Trial Results
General information about the 2011 IIRON (Module1) test sites are given in Tables 1 and 2.Entry designation, cross, and country of origin are given in Table 3. The local checks used are listed inTable 4.
Adjusted grain yields of entries from 28 irrigated trials are shown in Table 5. The yield ranges oftest entries and frequencies when these were significantly higher/lower than international and local checkvarieties are summarized in Table 6. Yield data from the rainfed trial at Luzhou (China) were excludedfrom overall mean computation.
Overall best entries
The entries with best yield performance across irrigated trials were selected based on the numberof sites where yields were significantly higher than and comparable with those of local checks. Theoverall best entries are as follows:
