What is Construction Photography ?

Construction Photography differs from Architectural Photographyas it is intended to be a true representation of the materials on a building rather than an artistic representation.

Why is this important?

In many cases the materials used may be completely bespoke and manufactured to meet the requirements of a particular project. As such this may be the only opportunity for specifiers, architects, installers or indeed clients to see them.

Why is High Resolution Important?

High Resolution DSLR Photography produces large images which allows interested parties to zoom in without pixilation to closely examine features such as joints, seals, fixings etc

What is the benefit?

In choosing materials and products that will adorn the exterior of a building sometimes what you cannot see is as important as what can be seen. No other medium can provide such scrutiny

What is Site Photography?

In addition to the eye catching Architectural shots we all admire, site photography has a practical purpose. If you are a manufacturer, supplier or installer, site photography can show how you contributed to the building. This is why we are CITB CSCS card holders.

The during construction shots can really give a flavour of what is involved and for obvious reasons can only be captured within a limited time frame.

What are the benefits of Site Photography?

As a manufacturer or supplier these images can show the technical detail, especially behind facades where, cold-bridging, insulation and hanging systems cannot be seen in the completed shots. If you are an installer, these images are even more important in conveying what you do, and what separates your company from your competitors.

What are the difficulties involved in site photography?

Photographing a working site is very different from taking images of a completed project.

Health & Safety We carry CITB CSCS cards to show that we have passed the H&S Construction Skills Certificate Scheme assessment which allows us to operate on working building sites.

Insurance We carry both Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance cover in the event that anything should go wrong as a result of our presence or work.

Construction Experience with 20+ years construction experienceworking on building sites we understand the processes involved in installation.

Why have your own photographs?Good Quality images really enhance your brand and are focussed on your products or services:

They are YOURS so you can use them for advertising, brochures, website ,social media, sales or CPD presentations.

They convey the status of your company

The images are as professional as you are

Bad or poor quality images also say a lot about your business

Still images are incredibly versatile and are by far the best way to show off your products and project portfolio on your website or via Case Studies.

CASE STUDY:BBC Broadcasting House

MERO-SCHMIDLIN (UK) PLC have worked extensively with the architects, consulting engineers and main contractors at the new extension to BBC Broadcasting House in Portland Place. The Camberley based Bespoke Envelope Contractors have a very extensive back catalogue of prestigious projects throughout the UK and are delighted to add this very contemporary project to their portfolio.

Whilst the terrorist atrocities of The Baltic Exchange (1992) Bishopsgate (1993) and Canary Wharf (1996) may well be long forgotten the damage to the buildings and in many cases BY the buildings, left its mark on construction design. As in the more recent Oklahoma Bombing in the USA 90% of all injuries were caused by flying glass. The selection and application of blast resistant glass needs specialist advice and all public buildings now have to take this element into account at design stage. Like most threats it can be hard to determine the size of the explosion and the proximity to your location. The channelling effect of other buildings and street architecture can change the way the pressure wave affects buildings. Post examination of explosions can reveal some odd
