iStar is a dynamic after-school filmmaking program that gives students skills, through modern learning, in communication, creativity, collaboration and critical thinking. This is a highly practical program that aims to make you an accomplished and creative filmmaker.

iStar develops your creative voice through writing, acting, directing and editing your own movie productions using smart devices. With real time tablet technology, students learn the fundamentals of filmmaking; framing, sound, lighting and camera acting techniques and how to apply these stylistically to a variety of different genres of film. You will engage with some of the latest apps, including; green screen, timelapse sequencing and other SFX software for the purposes of making your digital stories more engaging and creative.

Each week students will be guided by our expert coaches and undertake a filmmaking challenge, related to the specific theme of the term. Drawing on the skills developed through the course of the year, students will collaborate to create their own film, which will be screened at a Premier Film Festival at the conclusion of the course.
