From: Sierra Club [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Sabine Buergermeister Sent: Wednesday, October 02, 2013 9:25 AM To: Morozowich, Deanna (DNREC) Subject: Public Comments - 7 DE Admin C 1140 Oct 2, 2013 Secretary Collin O'Mara Dear Secretary O'Mara, I applaud the Markell administration for proposing clean car standards that will reduce smog-forming pollution and make our air cleaner to breathe. I urge you to finalize those clean car standards as soon as possible. We have a long way to go to make Delaware's air clean. In a recent report, the American Lung Association awarded air quality in Delaware's three counties two F's (New Castle and Sussex) and one D (Kent) due to the frequency of high ozone days. The proposed standards will reduce smog-forming pollution from our passenger cars and trucks by 75 percent, preventing premature deaths, reducing asthma attacks and giving Delawareans cleaner air to breathe. Further, I urge you to adopt policies that will increase the number of plug-in electric vehicles in Delaware, particularly the Zero Emission Vehicle program. Increasing electric vehicle options can help Delaware reduce our dependence on oil and combat climate change. Once again, thank you for proposing clean car standards that will make our air cleaner to breathe. I urge you to finalize these standards as soon as possible. Sincerely, Ms. Sabine Buergermeister Heinrich-Mann-Str. 5 Freiburg/Germany, DE 79100

From: Sierra Club [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Grace Nasseh Sent: Wednesday, October 02, 2013 10:50 AM To: Morozowich, Deanna (DNREC) Subject: Public Comments - 7 DE Admin C 1140 Oct 2, 2013 Secretary Collin O'Mara Dear Secretary O'Mara, I applaud the Markell administration for proposing clean car standards that will reduce smog-forming pollution and make our air cleaner to breathe. Sincerely, Mrs. Grace Nasseh 1211 Heather Ln Wilmington, DE 19803-3523

From: Sierra Club [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Iris Barrton Sent: Wednesday, October 02, 2013 10:49 AM To: Morozowich, Deanna (DNREC) Subject: Public Comments - 7 DE Admin C 1140 Oct 2, 2013 Secretary Collin O'Mara Dear Secretary O'Mara, I applaud the Markell administration for proposing clean car standards that will reduce smog-forming pollution and make our air cleaner to breathe. Iris Barrton 30 Stonebridge Dr Hockessin, DE 19707-9184

I think that Delaware ought to look at California's emissions standards. They have regulated emissions from power plants, from industries such as the agriculture business, (farm tractors, farm trucks, farm pick-up trucks), the transportation industry; semi's across the country that emit pounds of ozone due to non compliance of codes. I feel that if these industries were seriously investigated, this will make a huge impact on our air and our health. Carol Collins 1935 Nault Rd Dover, DE 19904-5823 (302) 678-1644
