“..Everyone who acknowledges me before others I will
acknowledge before my heavenly Father. But whoever does not
acknowledge me before others I will not acknowledge before my
heavenly Father.”
Matthew 10:37
Acknowledgement of God is recognition of what God has
done for us. Not recognizing all that we are and have is His
gift, is to not recognize Him.

Matthew 10:30-31
The little girl in the after-school tutoring program was
confounded by the crossword puzzel and so were the two
adults trying to help.
None of us could make any sense of it. After almost a half
an hour of frustration, I told the very patient child that she
could do something else. She asked to play a game with me.
The program’s rule was that a book should be read first, but
considering the torture of the previous half-hour, I bent that
rule.
Delighted, she chose a game in which we’d take turns tellng
a story inspired by pictures on dice. She created stories with
ease and a big smile. It was lovely to see, and I left praying
that this child’s sense of herself would not be determined
by the standards of others, but by her delight in the
flourishing of the gifts given her by the God who knows her
heart.
Creator God, thank you for your care for me.

Homebound Ministry:
St. Joseph sends forth ministers to parishioners to bring them the
Word and the Body of Christ. Our ministers will visit, bring
them a copy of the bulletin, and include them in the life of our
parish. If you know of an elderly, disabled, sick, or homebound
person that isn’t able to get to church as often as they would like,
contact Kim Hovious, Pastoral Associate at 348-3126 or

Marriage Moment
In marriage, there are certain things that you can “agree to disagree” on
and others that you absolutely must agree upon. For example, you must
agree that your marriage is a top priority and you will do whatever you
need to do to strengthen it.
Parenting Pointer
We sacrifice our time, money, and ego for those we love. Which of these
is easiest and hardest for you to sacrifice for your own child?

ST. JOSEPH CHURCH ~ BARDSTOWN KY JUNE 25, 2017
We give thanks to God for the blessings of those who serve in our midst. Often these are unsung
heroes. When they leave, we notice again the contribution they have made and their absence is felt.
Fr. Wilfredo has been called to serve at Holy Trinity and Holy Name parishes in Louisville. We
thank him for the ministry of his first year of priesthood here and at St. Michael’s. We wish him well.
Marie Seaman will be leaving us this month also. She has dedicated herself to the formation of
adults and children in RCIA, the Haiti sewing ministry, recycling, adult education and other tasks. We
thank her and all who were her co-workers.
Last month we celebrated Vivian Schepker’s 27 years of service at St. Joseph. She gave a warm
welcome to all who stopped by or called the parish. We thank God for her.
Monique Becker graciously served for 4 months as my Assistant. She organized many loose ends
and now she dedicates herself to her family, including her granddaughter!
We welcome Serena Welch as the front desk Receptionist and Ashley Lawrence as the Adminis-
trative Assistant. They are discovering the many opportunities and dimensions for service in our parish.
Robin Leake is stepping up to the responsibility of Director of Religious Education.
Deacon David Farrell is assisting us until August 18. We welcome him!!
My assignment no longer includes responsibilities at St. Michael’s. They will share a Pastor with All
Saints in Taylorsville. We welcome Fr. Johnny Johnson to our region.
Fr. Joe Batcheldor will assist me and we will call upon Fr. Jim Graf, Fr. Tom Clark and others when
it is time for me to be away on retreat and vacation.
These are but a few of the ministers who are part of the collaborative network of servants for
the Lord. I am most thankful for all the generosity of these co-workers, volunteers, staff and priests
who have served past, present and future at St. Joseph Parish.
Fr. Terry Bradshaw
