Happy Birthday to Margaret
Ferguson who is celebrating her
83rd birthday on June 4th.
Bishop Bradley has written a pastoral letter entitled, “From Darkness to Light: Hope for a New Pentecost” for all
the Faithful in the Diocese. In this beautifully heartfelt letter Bishop Bradley encourages us, during these days of Easter, to be transformed like the Apostles from “we will allow that same Holy Spirit, who filled the hearts of the first Apostles and turned them from fearful followers into fearless witnesses...”. He also shares his intention for a diocesan “Mass of Thanksgiving” as soon as we are able. You may find the pastoral letter on the
diocesan website: www.diokzoo.org.
Dear Friends,
“Be What You are and Be at its Best.” S.F.S
Hearty welcome back to all those who are able to be present for the public mass. I always had a thought whenever we prayed the Holy Scriptural Rosary that on the Pentecost Sunday, we will be able to gather back for the public Mass. Whenever we prayed the Glorious Scriptural Mysteries and when it comes to the third mystery, and before we say the first Hail Mary we say (When Pentecost day came around, they had all met in one room. Acts 2:1). Yes, that was in my mind too that on the Pentecost Sunday we will be able to gather back for the public Mass. As I welcome you back to the church, I appreciate all your patience during this past time when we had to be united Spiritually through the Facebook live streaming. I also like to say thank you for all your support to our parishes in all the way possible. I would like to remember our elderly members (and people who are at risk and the Home Bound) of our Parishes, who are still not able to be with us physically. I continue to pray in a special way for all of you and we will remember you in our Masses. Please stay safe and stay healthy. The Holy Spirit is the soul of the Church. The feast of Pentecost is an annual invitation to the Church to look into itself and discover its soul. It is tempted, like all of us, to keep looking the other way. Traditional images of the Holy Spirit are: Fire, Wind, Water, Cloud, Dove…. Why such strange images? All of them (except ‘dove’) have indeterminate boundaries or no boundaries at all. They are reminders that we should not dare to restrict the activity of the Spirit to a few things we can understand. O Dove, O Flame, O Water, Wind and Cloud…! O love that lifts us wholly into God! The Holy Spirit lives in us but is not confined in us. Any soul is for expansion, not constriction. Things that have no soul - sticks and stones - are restricted entirely to themselves; plants have a certain ability to reach beyond themselves, for food and for propagating their species; animals still more. But human beings are able to reach vastly beyond themselves and touch the depths of everything. “The Spirit searches all things,” St Paul wrote, “even the deep things of God. Let us invite the Holy Spirit into our Hearts.
“Be Blessed and Be a Blessing”
Yours lovingly in Christ & Mary, Fr. R. Mathias MSFS

AUCTION POSTPONED
Due to COVID-19 regulations, our biggest “fun”raiser of the year had to be postponed. Our new date is
September 12, 2020. At this point we do not know if our communities will be completely open by this date. If we are unable to hold our gathering/auction, we will still have the drawing on September 12th. It will be a live stream event. The drawing will not be postponed
for a second time. Here is some important information to take note of:
• All drawdown tickets previously purchased will apply to the new date. Remember that you need not be present to win.
• All entrance/dinner tickets previously purchased will apply to the new date.
• Please keep track of any tickets you may have signed out to sell. Do not discard them. State regulations require us to account for every ticket. Also, they will be used for the new date.
• To purchase drawdown tickets contact a school family or one of our offices.
In Christ’s Peace,
Mrs. Sharon Voege

How to Wear Cloth Face Coverings Cloth face coverings should—
• fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
• be secured with 4es or ear loops
• include mul4ple layers of fabric to allow for breathing without restric4on and be able to launder and machine dry without damage
CDC on Homemade Cloth Face Coverings CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public seRngs where other
social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and
pharmacies), especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.
CDC also advises the use of simple cloth face coverings to slow the spread of
the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from
transmiRng it to others. Cloth face coverings fashioned from household
items or made at home from common materials at low cost can be used as an
addi4onal, voluntary public health measure.
Cloth face coverings should not be placed on young children under age
2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated or
otherwise unable to remove the cloth face covering without assistance.
The cloth face coverings recommended are not surgical masks or N-95
respirators. Those are cri4cal supplies that must con4nue to be reserved for
healthcare workers and other medical first responders, as recommended by
current CDC guidance.
