The history of cutlery in Maniago began in the fifteenth century when the local blacksmiths used to forge blades for the army of the Republic of Venice. Oreste Frati era un esperto nella produzione e nel commercio di coltelli e, dopo che nel 1977 fondò le Coltellerie Fox, vide questa nuova realtà crescere spinta dalla fame di innovazione tecnica e dalla centenaria tradizione professionale che caratterizza Maniago.
Oreste Frati was an expert in knife production and trade and, after he founded Fox Cutlery in 1977, he saw this new reality grow driven by the hunger for technical innovation and the centenary professional tradition that characterizes Maniago.
I prodotti dedicati al settore militare e quelli più accessibili rientrano rispettivamente nei brand FKMD e Black Fox.
The products dedicated to the military sector and the more affordable ones fall under the FKMD and Black Fox brands respectively.
Nel 2008 Oreste, insieme a suo figlio Gabriele e Andrea De Lorenzi, diede vita ad Euroknives Italia srl. per sopperire alla richiesta di progettazione e produzione di alto livello necessaria per essere un’eccellenza nel mercato del coltello. Nel 2021 Fox ed Euroknives sono diventate un’unica realtà fondendosi.
In 2008 Oreste, together with his son Gabriele and Andrea De Lorenzi, started Euroknives Italia srl. to meet the high level of design and production required to be an excellence in the knife market. In 2021 Fox and Euroknives merged together becoming one reality.
Dal 2006 DEFCON 5 è in grado di fornire tutti i tipi di abbigliamento militare ed equipaggiamento tattico, sviluppato e selezionato per il mercato nazionale ed estero e rientra nei fornitori ufficiali NATO.
Since 2006 DEFCON 5 has been able to supply all types of military clothing and tactical equipment, developed and selected for the national and foreign market. DEFCON 5 is also part of the official NATO suppliers.
