(120V) and the same horsepowerratings (41Hp – 100Hp) at 20lbs less(35lbs vs 55lbs). It’s rated at aslightly higher upper limit –6000RPM vs 5500RPM, and is aconsiderably smaller package, evenif you include the cooling system.(The nonliquidcooled version, theME1115, runs at a top recommendedRPM of 5000.) The bad news is thatyou’re looking at a package that’sabout $1K more pricey, controllerand all included."

Ok so it's a ME1115 Motenergy motor repackaged into a Liquid cooling case. Ithas been improved to do 100Nm and 6000RPM (135Nm and 8000RPM accordingto the brochure). I can't tell which is correct. At 46kW peak (brochure) and 35lbsyou have very similar specs to the Zero 759 motor (50kW/39lbs). It'll beinteresting to see some actual numbers and see it run with a more powerfulcontroller to actual take advantage of the added cooling it should have over theZero motor.

Ted can you get them to confirm which source is actually accurate (the webpageor brochure)?

Also the AC20 is 8000RPM peak not 5000. The power numbers are similar so youare saving volume and weight. It's definitely a great option for the DIY crowd.

How much does the radiator, tubing, and liquid weigh?

2nd what Kyle said about seeing performance with a bigger controller. Liquidcooling will definitely help continuous power, not so much peak power. AC20 willdo 54 kW (73 HP) peak with a 130V / 650A Curtis. Its continuous power isenough to go 80 mph on a naked bike. Same with plain old ME1115, so have todecide if the $$ and complexity of the cooling system is worth it. Very cool tohave liquid cooling options in a <$4000 motor though.

My guess would be 10lbs minimum and up to 1520lbs when mounted (rad=23lbs, pump=12lbs, tubing=1lb, liquid=35lbs). This is based on the image of thesystem and the liquid cooling system we had on the OSU bikes.

I still like the Zero motor package better because of this added simplicity of aircooling and it can be had for a bit cheaper. I'm impressed with it's capabilities, but in the end some form of liquid cooling may be necessary to push it to thelimits.

If you want an all inclusive package that has good power and allows for futuretweaks to maybe get more power than this kit is pretty sweet. I like it more thanan AC20, but I've never used an AC20. Should be noted that the Sevcon isabout 5lbs lighter than the Curtis and a little bit smaller.

I've asked about the website/brochure numbers, but haven't heard back yet. Thanks for the correction on the AC20 RPM, that makes a whole lot more sense. Itried to pull all the numbers off the same source Electric Motorsport, in thiscase, so hopefully they'd be using the same maths, but I'm still not sure where Igot that bogus number. I blame not enough coffee this morning.

They're offering the motor with a Sevcon Gen4 Size 4 at this point, and havebeen tied up on other controller projects (a sepex). Raul said not to expect a Size6 real soon, but everybody wants it, they know it, and they're making it apriority.

Cooling system weight? I have no idea, other than a radiator for a LC gas bikeweighs about a pound, (if that), some hoses and a few pounds of glycol/water?Don't forget the pump, maybe under 10 pounds, I'd guess?

I also didn't compare the dimensions of the two sidebyside. Maybe a matchupwould be fun to do once they have dyno numbers. Presumably they'd run thesame numbers on a few of the motors they supply.

Raul told me that it was their project, thus the exclusivity. They worked withMotenergy to have it built to their specific requirements, so yeah, it's onlyavailable, in this particular configuration, through them. I'm not even sure whatthe details are, or even if they'd tell me if I asked, but I'm sure anybody with theclout (read: $$) could do the same thing with their own design parameters, andJohn (at Motoenergy) would be happy to do it.

I also have got to add, they've been working on this project for over a year, so
