Homemade food with a SmileyThey were acouple of guysin search ofrestaurants

that servedgood portionsof homemadefood at reason-able prices. One day they

decided stop searching and open their own eatery.Jesse Cohen and Chris McFadden opened Smiley GuysSmokehouse in December of 2011. Located at 131Joerschke Drive in Grass Valley, Smiley Guys is basedon all criteria they had been searching for as dinnerguests. The food portions are hearty and everything is

made from scratch; all their rubs, marinates, saucesand side dishes. Nothing is every frozen said Cohen. The rubs, marinates and sauces are inspired byMcFadden southern upbringing. Some admittedlytoned down a little on the spicy side for the general

    public.The Smiley Guys

menu offers a choice ofTri-Tip, chicken and

pulled pork served as asandwich or as a platter. The fun comes whenadding your own per-sonality to the meal witha choice of five differentsauces ranging from aTexas style red to aKansas City sweet red orthe extreme RaginMonkey which comeswith the warning that itmay cause extreme sweating, cussing and heavydrinking. Side dishes include Cole slaw, baked bfried sweet potato chips, corn bread, corn on the chand cut French fries or salad. Cohen points out thSmiley Guys supports other area businesses. Ourmeats are from Longhorn Meats in Auburn. The bis from Duprees Bakery and the desserts from SierMountain Coffee Roasters, both of Grass Valley. Asides and salads are made from organic produce. also feature 10 different beers on tap.

Smiley Guys Smoke House features dine in, witseating for over 80, take out, party catering serviceand party reservations. They are open Monday -Thursday 11:00am to 9:00pm, Fridays and Saturda11:00am to 10:00pm. To learn more, visit their weat www.smileyguyssmokehouse.com.

Eaglesmith 18th album isentitled Cha Cha Cha. It

is rocknroll mixed withEaglesmiths usual creativepanache, soulful backing vocals, dance rhythms andmore. Eaglesmith has followed his muse and themusic to wherever it takes him since he left the family

farm at age 15 to pursue the hitchhiking and freight-hopping trail of a traveling troubadour. As a result hehas forged one of the most distinguished and uniqueindependent careers in popular music from the grass-roots upwards, marked by a consistent string of criticalsuperlatives for his work. And now after being a lead-ing light in both the new folk and Americana move-ments, Eaglesmith stays at the cutting edge of themusical zeitgeist to help spark a rocknroll renewal. Istill want to be vibrant and I still want to be on fire andI still have passion, he asserts. I dont ever wanna stayin the ghetto. His restless and relentless muse hasalready earned Eaglesmith a singular and impressivelegacy of achievements. Over the years the Juno Award-winning artist has had his music used in films byMartin Scorsese, James Caan and Toby Keith, scored ahit #1 on the bluegrass charts with Thirty Years ofFarming, recorded by James King, and had his songsincluded in the curriculum at two colleges.
