A DMZ is considered neutral territory under direct O-12 rule. As indicated by the name, the presence of

military personnel and installaons of any power other than the O-12 in this area, or that is not subject todirect control from the Aegis Bureau, is strictly forbidden.

The Demilitarized Zone under O-12 government is considered temporary unl the resoluon of the conictbetween the dierent naons that dispute the region. However, no me limit is established for the handoverof this territory, or for the O-12 to abandon governing this territory.

The term DMZ may be modied in order to indicate a greater territorial precision, as in the cases ofDemilitarized City (DMC) and Demilitarized Island (DMI).

CARTOGRAPHYFlamia Island is found in the central area of the Xiajusu Ocean, almost equidistant between the connentof Norstralia and the great island of Molokai. Besides the island itself, the polical unit of Flamia includesseveral small nearby islands, the arcial islet of Zhurong, home to the project of the same name, Sagres

Island, recognizable by it orbital link beacon, and Onza Island which is inhabited seasonally. The rst two arepermanently joined to Flamia Island by elevated highways.

The terrain of the island is varied. There are mountainous areas in the northern and southern zones dividedby a central valley. In contrast, the western area shoreline is a plain that is the result of ancient glacialdeposits from ages past. There is only one signicant body of water on this island, Lake Antela, which isrelavely small by Paradiso planetary standards.

The island does not have signicant natural resources, which is why the Zhurong geothermal power plant wasbuilt.

The ora and fauna exhibit the usual exuberance of this planet, with dense forests covering hills and

mountains, giving the island an appearance similar to that of the great island of Molokai, located furthersouth.

The climate of Flamia is mainly temperate, with fresh summers and temperate and rainy winters. The islandis not very sunny, but it is less cloudy than Molokai because of the strong winds that help keep the clouds inconstant moon; this, however, represents an inconvenience for air transport.

In short, it could be said that the island does not represent a posion of value in terms of natural resources,or because it presents opmal condions for habitaon. However, the island acquires special relevance dueto its exceponal locaon as a midway point in the Xiajusu Ocean, and launch posion towards the connentsof Norstralia, Septentria, and the great island of Molokai.

HISTORY OF AN ISLANDAlthough Flamia Island was mapped by the Exploraon Service of the PanOceanian Navy, the rst group tosele on the island would be a Yu Jing advance party, claiming it as State Empire territory.

This imposed a constant source of conict with the PanOceanian government who claimed discovery rightsover the island. However, the Party established a erce strategy of denial before the O-12 Senate, prevenngPanOceania from installing any kind of selement on Flamia.

The fundamental queson on which this territorial conict is based is the geostrategic value of the island. Saidvalue is determined by the island’s proximity to the great island of Molokai. Flamia serves as a natural stop-opoint en route to the island of Molokai, and between the connents of Norstralia and Septentria. This makesFlamia an ideal posion as a base of both defensive and oensive operaons, making it a strategic control

point.

The PanOceanian High Command considered that the great island of Molokai would be at constant risk andunder threat as long as Flamia were under foreign rule. Therefore, the reports prepared by the Hexahedronanalysts emphasized PanOceanian interest in the island, doubling diplomac eorts to establish a selementon the island, eorts that the StateEmpire obsnately rejected. The exchange of accusaons and claimsbefore the O-12 tribunals regarding the island remained constant unl the arrival of the NeoColonial Wars.

During the rst stage of this conict the PanOceanian Military Complex launched a lightning strike on theisland with the intenon of taking over all of its territory. The sudden PanOceanian oensive overwhelmedthe StateEmpire garrison. Yu Jing High Command found itself unable to quickly send troops because of thedeliberate destrucon of all of the island’s airelds by PanOceanian troops. The strategy of the HyperpowerWith the aerial opon blocked, Yu Jing Command was le with inserng troops via orbital launch, an oponmade more dicult by the quick installaon of an interference staon by the PanOceanian forces on theisland, or the opon of an amphibious assault. The naval opon, however, was discarded due to the lack ofsucient ships to form an aack and disembarkaon convoy that would have the capacity needed to retakethe island.

At the truce signing in the Neutral City of Accra, Flamia Island was recognized as territory conquered byPanOceania, and disputed by Yu Jing.

However, during the Culminang Phase of the NeoColonial Wars the StateEmpire reacted with an oensive

that was so intense that it would leave the PanOceanian troops cornered in the southern zone of the island.The sudden signing of the Río Negro peace treaty was the only thing that prevented the PanOceanian forcesfrom being expelled from the island. The brilliant acon of the Tiger Soldiers during the oensive was key inestablishing a beach head, as were their constant harassment acons against the troops of the Hyperpower.

The outbreak of the Terminal Phase of the NeoColonial Wars would lead to a new wave of violence on theisland, aracng new actors to the stage. The onslaught of PanOceanian troops from their posions in thesouth of the island decided the fate of the Yu Jing operaonal group that controlled the center of the island.This group was le cut o and ghng alone, retreang towards their own lines to the north. During theseacons, the Bagh-Mari units honored their name as ger hunters engaging in harsh confrontaons with YuJing Tiger Soldier commandos.

In the meanme, Haqqislamite High Command was set on avenging the aacks on Al-Hadiye during the

previous stage of the war. Allying itself with the Nomad Military Force it launched a surprise aack on theastroport located on the western part of the island. The PanOceanian forces concentrated on the oensiveagainst the Yu Jing posions were not able to prevent their installaons and surrounding territory falling intothe hands of the Nomad-Haqqislamite allied forces.

The situaon seemed to have reached an impasse unl one of the facons succeeded in sending inreinforcements to sele the issue, when O-12 imposed the Concilium Peace and ended the conict.

In the secon of the treaty that dealt with the Paradiso situaon the Öberhaus determined that the islandwould become an O-12 protectorate and would be known as a Demilitarized Island. Because of this all powerswere forced to withdraw their military forces, with only civilian and unarmed military personnel allowed toremain on the island.

In accordance with the aforemenoned treaty, and in accordance with the internaonal legislaon regardingthe establishment of protectorates, O-12 determined the areas of inuence of each power on the island.Similarly, it expropriated a series of zones and installaons with the purpose of facilitang the control of theisland, as well as for supporng the war eorts against the Combined Army.

However, it cannot be said that the turbulent history of this island has reached a conclusion. The dierentpowers sll claim rights over dierent areas of the insular territory, and are waing for the end of the O-12protectorate. Furthermore, Flamia has also become a target of the Combined Army now that the AegisBureau has transformed it into a rearguard operaons center, as well as a plaorm for the launching ofoensives into its territories. In conclusion, it can be conrmed that the end of the NeoColonial Wars and theParadiso Oensives have only served to increase the geostrategic relevance of this island.

NORTHERN ZONE. YU JING TERRITORY

ZHURONG POWER PLANTLocated on an arcial islet connected to the mainland by an elevated highway. This power plant suppliesenergy to the dierent Yu Jing installaons on the island, as well as to the transports of said Power that useFlamia as a refueling point. Part of the energy is sent to the Yingxian region of Norstralia through a transferstaon located on the mainland across from the power plant. The arcial islet of Zhurong only has colleconand processing facilies; all of the necessary ancillary industry, as well as the accommodaons for thenecessary personnel, and the port are found on the mainland in the small city with the same name.

SOUTHERN ZONE. PANOCEANIAN TERRITORY

SAGRES MONITORING STATIONImportant communicaons, surveillance, and orbital link node located on Sagres Island. This posion is

fundamental for the establishment of air superiority in the southern theater of operaons on Paradiso. Easilyidenable thanks to its enormous orbital beacon, this posion is very vulnerable to air strikes. However,most of the anaircra arllery has been removed; what is le is for security measures against CombinedArmy aacks, and is handled by Aegis Bureau forces in accordance with the Demilitarized Island declaraon.The main arllery posions are on the mainland, hidden in the slopes of Mount Skillion which rises from thecoast opposite the island. The elevated highway that connects Sagres with the coastal locality of Terrigal isreinforced in order to prevent an unfortunate aack from rendering the island incommunicado.

CENTRAL VALLEY. INTERNATIONAL ZONEThe great valley that makes up the central area of the island is under direct O-12 control, which has cededterritory for the establishment of instrucon camps for foreign forces as part of the joint eort against the

alien invasion.

CAMP ANTELALocated on the banks of Lake Antela is one of the Aegis Bureau facilies created as a center of adaptaonto the Paradiso Front for the Ariadna Expedionary Force troops deployed on this planet. In this camp theAriadna forces become accustomed to working with the most common and modern operaonal taccs in theSphere, in order to improve their capacity for working together with other allied forces.

WESTERN ZONE. NOMAD-HAQQISLAMITE TERRITORYThe plain created by glacial deposits made it an excellent locaon for Yu Jing to establish the island’s mainastroport in this region. This area was taken by a combined Nomad-Haqqislamite force during the NeoColonialWars, breaking down the territory and dividing the astroport area according to their own logiscal needs.

TIĀNXIÀN ASTROPORT CITYIn the territorial division aer the conquest of this area, Haqqislam took charge of the commercial astroportand the nearest city, Tiānxiàn. As a sign of respect, the Haqqislamite government kept the original Chinesename of the city which led to an easy transion for its inhabitants, and facilitang the exit of all those whodid not want to remain under the Haqqislamite authority. The commercial astroport of Tiānxiàn connues tofuncon normally, although it is heavily exploited by Haqqislamite companies and military command.

EASTERN ZONE. COHABITATION TERRITORYThis territory, which is one of least populated territories of the island, was chosen by O-12 for the locaon ofits main government headquarters on Flamia. The arrival of the Tohaa Trinomial to the Sphere, and the needto cover its own requirements in order to be able to carry out operaons on Paradiso, forced O-12 to cede

territory, although always under the condions of a Demilitarized Zone.

NAROOMA ADVANCED HOSPITAL COMPLEXLocated on the coast across from Onza Island, this medical center provides advanced surgical services andlong-term hospital assistance for the Tohaa troops. It is one of the largest rearguard Tohaa locaons onParadiso. The original name given by the PanOceanian cartographers has been kept because, by happycoincidence, this word means “fresh breeze”.

THE OPERATION FLAMESTRIKE CAMPAIGNThis campaign consists of a series of six scenarios played on a map with the purpose of establishing controlover all of Flamia Island, on planet Paradiso.

The scenarios may be played in any order because the campaign does not have a strict chronologicalsequence. The nal goal of this campaign is to take control of the various territories into which Flamia Islandis divided.

Each marked territory corresponds to a scenario, and the achievement of this scenario implies the aainmentof a strategic objecve that allows the territory to be controlled. The scenarios are the usual ITS ones,applying the Innity Campaign Rules, although some may include special rules for this specic campaign.

NORTHERN ZONE. YU JING TERRITORYIn order to control this territory the Zhurong Power Plant must be taken.

ZHURONG POWER PLANTMission: Engineering Deck

SOUTHERN ZONE. PANOCEANIAN TERRITORYTo dominate this territory the Orbital Monitoring Staon of Sagres Island must be controlled.

SAGRES MONITORING STATIONMission: Capture the Antennas (Low Visibility Version).

Special Scenario Rule: The area included 20 cm to either side of the central line of the table must be considered a Low Visibility Zone.

CENTRAL VALLEY. INTERNATIONAL ZONETo establish control over this territory it is necessary to eliminate any military instrucon group found in thearea of Lake Antela, so that no resistance groups appear in the rearguard.
